The UNOFFICIAL DeviantART group "Champions Online Art" is going to be hosting a Costume Contest in the upcoming month! The costume contest is divided into only 2 categories:
Heroes and Villains
THIS year's Costume Contest is of a fairly uncommon theme. Redesign! What does this entail you ask?
Basically, the theme requires you to reimagine any of the existing lore characters, may it be from source books or the game itself, in a way that how would YOU approach to designing them with the tools given to you in the video game?
Your options are pretty much limitless. Here's a couple examples for you to think about:
- If one of your own characters was the Champion, Defender, What would they look like?
- If Witchcraft's powers were coming from a power armor rather than just magic, how would you set that up in the editor?
- If Dr. Destroyer was from the Golden Age Era of comics, what would he look like?
- What if Dr. Silverback was only human?!
And it can go on and on, the only limit is your imagination. Play with different Eras, different characters taking on others' mantles, alternate universes.
The contest will be divided into 2 categories. Heroes and Villains. The best costumes out of these two categories will be chosen; Heroes section will cover the Anti-Heroes/Vigilante types whereas Villains will also include your Anti-Villain characters. So there is not much of a contest there, you have to decide who your character is.
But of course it doesn't end there... You have to write down who this new character is and why they're wearing THAT costume. A backstory pretty much. That will be taken into consideration as well.
REWARDS!
And the reward is one character illustration done by me as the artist, of the winning costumes in both categories!

RULES!
Since this is a dA group event, you're going to submit your entries through deviantART! So if you haven't joined dA yet, here you go! DeviantART
- The submissions will go into the "Costume Contest Submissions" category!
- All the submissions will be in the turnaround/reference form.
- No more than one entry per category. So you can't put 3 heroes and 4 villains. It's hero and/or villain. That's it.
- All the submissions SHOULD have the backstory/bio of the character since that'll be taken into consideration when choosing as well.
- The characters that get the redesign HAVE TO be from the Champions Lore (Which includes Champions Online as well)

Micro Man..
The Subatomic Man of Science
Dr. Benjamin Yin was once a scientist for UNTIL for their modern technology division. He developed a machine that distilled cosmic radiation from unknown origins that would allow himself to travel to distant pocket dimension to search for life.
Unbeknownst to the laboratory workers, the radiation had leaked into the open air and everyone was forced to evacuate except Yin who risked his own life to shut down the machine.
The radiation exposure altered his genetics and have him the ability to shrink impossibly like a ant!
He went on to become a hero devoted to advancing modern science and traveling into the unknown to help defend the defenseless from danger

Is a MicroMan homage who uses a shrinking gun to turn himself and others into micro sizable from champions lore and on Champions Online.
A perfect example and along with Ant-Man out in theaters as well
