i been using a might build...EVERYONE keeps harpin on me bout knockback to the point where i just wanna thru my pc out the window. I need a punching type of build...is there a way to use MA with only punch animations thats viable?
You don't need to switch to MA... if people are complaining about your knockbacks your have 2 options (besides a rebuild).
Option 1: Triple-TAP your abilities with knockback to build up 3 quick stacks of knock-resist, then go to town.
Option 2: Attack enemies separate from the main group. Either pull a second smaller group for yourself, or grab any mobs that break off from the main group.
If neither of those options seem viable to you there are several punch based MA attacks, and if you got the imaginary weapon skins from the foxbat con event then you can also use MA-claws for punching attacks as well.
Unarmed MA punches: Vicious Strikes (EB), One Hundred Hands, Backhand Chop, Elbow Slam, Burning Chi Fist, Dragon Uppercut, Open Palm Strike.
Non-knockback Might: Everything except Roomsweeper & Haymaker... seriously, if you just remove Roomsweeper &/or Haymaker from your build and use the other might skills then you won't have any knockbacks.
If people complain.
Tell them to use the bloody keyboard keys to move their characters around. Most of the time people just love standing still and spam that one power...
Tell them to find the 'Follow' target key.
And, since this is about Alerts, right? Tell them to stop PuGing. And find a team that suits their playstyle.
Play how you like to play.
I love KnockBacks.

No.
In fact, you need to get stronger. So strong that you knock their nemesis into OUTER SPESS. I want you to hit them so hard that they reach those smug Star Guardians and mess up their window view of Jupiter. And if they go "wee wee wee stop using knockback!!" You can send them to spess, too! Take it from me. You'll never regret it.
Also remember roomsweeper does a kock up against targets affected by holds or roots. So you can just use an AoE stun like thunderclap before roomsweeper.
But I agree with the other replies, ignore the complaints.
If someone tells me to stop using knocks I just stop attacking. Then when confronted about not attacking I ask if they would want me to not attack or rather have my 15k-20k+ spike cascades (assuming alerts). Sometimes I just flat out ignore the remark and continue the knockfest. Let them piss and moan.

For might, you usually don't want to knock anything back that you aren't going to kill, and not because of your teammates -- because you have to chase the stupid thing down after you've done so. There are, however, multiple ways to avoid this problem. Mostly, don't use roomsweeper and full charge haymaker.
However, if you're using enrage, you do need something that does knocks. For single-target, uppercut works fine, but unfortunately, the Might AoE options that do knock-ups are not punches. Assuming you don't have Invisible Weapons from foxbatcon, thunderclap/roomsweeper may be your closest option.
One caveat: if its a Stitch in Time, please be careful about KB-ing an enemy into Juryrig's pile of stuff; it can cause the Alert to be impossible to finish. Outside of that, KBs def aren't efficient for trash, where clumping things up for AoE is the easiest method, but CO's content doesn't require that sort of rigor, and its so easy to cover ground in this game that its not really a big deal anyway. Besides, some builds may only have CC_interrupts by KB-ing, and if ya need to CC then do it.
another caveat: if it's Museum Heist, be careful when knocking enemies near the display cases, you might accidently knock them INSIDE of a case making them immortal...
Fully charged Haymakers are amazing against knock resisted targets. In fact, many knock powers get a damage boost when the target can't be knocked. I wouldn't drop knock powers, I'd just use them responsibly. Knock back into a solid wall or knock up / down.
Normally, if someone is getting knock happy, I move on to the next mob instead of chasing things all over the place. If everyone else dies because of the extra mob aggro, oh well. Sometimes I'll just stand there and wait for them to finish doing all of the work. They clearly don't need my help anyway. But I wouldn't waste my time chastising someone. Expecting people on the Internet to be considerate of others only leads to disappointment.
There was a time, when alerts were somewhat new, when knocking mobs on Dockside Dustup was an issue, since that alert was queued more than any other (remember when Black Fang drop Q boxes?). Given that there were no level requirements, and the time was short, knocking was an issue for folks who didn't know the mechanics.
It's different now. Alerts are more likely to have higher-level toons, less folks use knocks, timed alerts give resources instead of XP, etc.
Take the advice above, and keep using knock powers.
I hate KB in alerts, including my own. However, not all of it.
perfect examples is two recently,
Bad-where the person would rush into a group of mobs and KB one. Then run to the next mob and hit them. Leaving the mobs all over the place and not attempting to finish them, by the looks they didn't have any lunge.
Good-Then we have another alert where the person, did the smack so hard, most bounced or just died. That person cleared a LOT of the alert. They also smacked them at walls, so their distance was limited.
When it came to the Boss, they quickly got up their Knock resistance then did BIG chargeups.
1. as Someguy said, you need to up your strength more , so that when you hit them, they bounce and don't get up again. NO complaints, if the target is dead first hit.
Scattering them, when they are ranged attacker- is annoying because they then fire from a variety of directions.
2. this is where the 3 taps or thunderclap, then smack them hard comes into it.
3. Knockups work well, they take damage going and hitting the ground(I think its an advantage)
Make sure you get a lunge so you can get any that survive the initial hit, you can lunge and give them another.
It's your character, unless you are deliberately trying to be annoying, it's their problem.(yes we do have some people who deliberately cause problems in alerts)
As I point out to people, who say " Why do you use that power, X is better?" It's my character and I'll do what I want with it.
If I am in an alert with someone who is being annoying, I just avoid them. If I'm having a particularly bad day, you're more likely to get a rude comment but most of the time I manage to avoid typing it.
If someone complains,Let them fight their own mob by themselves, while you smack the **** out of the larger ones. The other people will likely end up following you around.
Once you get your strength up, you're going to be doing tanking in alerts, simply by damage.
GO for it.
So I have a Behemoth and I tried the tapping trick. Here's the problem even on tap they mobs get knocked all over. It's to the point where I just ignore room sweeper on lower mobs and save it for bosses. I hate scattering mobs all over in an alert because they just end up popping off ranged attacks in all directions.

Roomsweeper always knocks; it's only haymaker that has zero knock on tap. I'm not sure what effective choices there are in the behemoth AT, since you can't have Thunderclap and Roomsweeper on the same build.
The only thing annoying about knocks in alerts is the players who fly into the middle of the mob just to blast them apart with a knock (whatever that wind power is, pillar of poz, etc... minimal damage and maximum mob dispersion is a bad combo).
Roomsweeper at least knocks them in mostly one direction, and tends to do decent damage.
