Mind/Sleep/Solo - What next?

p4nj4kr3jnp4nj4kr3jn Posts: 189 Arc User
I am levelling up a Mind/Sleep based solo PvE character (and remember, I exit each character after it hits 40, I just play for levelling fun.) Here's what I have so far. I am level 34, but haven't yet picked my level 32 power, nor of course my 35 or 38.

What shall I pick for my last 3 powers? Things are working well enough for me now, what can I get to make it even better? I was going to go with a couple of Active Offenses and maybe an Active Defense, but other than that, what will make me more effectice in Solo PvE?

Thanks

Dodge, lock and load or ego surge, placate w/svengali, conviction (if Regen isn't enough) are all decent choices.

Well, so far Regen is quite enough and I haven't even ranked it to 3 yet. So basically, Active Offenses and Defenses to round it out. Petty much what I had guessed, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't overlooking anything. Especially any other attacks or mezzes. ;)

Ya could consider Summon Nightmares w/ the terror adv, and then ya can summon them on each enemy if ya want to just mix it up a bit or have some fun (they'll still break sleep though, iirc).

On sleep maybe emerging nightmares instead of R2?

What is the function of emerging nightmares? PS: I also tend to avoid pets ;)

Emerging Nightmares causes fear on the sleepers when they wake up.

I knew that, but how does fear work in this game?

They target has its damage (i.e. the damage it does) reduced by 10%.

Ah - that's very different from City of heroes, when fear was like a sleep, where if they got attacked during fear they would attack you once and then go back to not attacking you.

Fear does cause the target to actually tremble in fear. So the mobs will occasionally stop attacking, pretty similar to the COH style. Not as potent though - I think COH was unique in how powerful controllers were allowed to be. Most other games really put the nerf on crowd control - which is sad.
