Lockbox Updates
- Added the Shoulder Raven costume piece to upcoming items. This will be the Lockbox Bonus Card item for the Scoundrel, Foxbat vs. Defender & Ravenwood lockboxes.
- Drop Rates: Increased drop rate of Gravity Driver and Ravenswood Blaster weapon skin. Reduced drop rate of Vehicle mods.
- Gravity Driver: Stun reduced to 3 second duration (down from 6 seconds).
- Global Callout: Removed global callout for costumes. Only the vehicles are called out now which should reduce the callouts by ~80%. (Note: Character names appear in the global callouts, not account names.)
- Vehicles: Added in dissolve-in/out FX for summoning/dismissing vehicle.
- Updated icons for several Ravenswood items.
Other Bug Fixes
- Shotgun Blast, Iron Cyclone, and Micromunitions should now apply Knock Resist after causing a Knock effect on players.
- Frag Grenade and Iron Cyclone should now apply Repel Resist after causing a Repel effect on players.
- Backhand power used by PSI Agents should now be blockable.
- Moved "Socrates Fatal Error" to a permanent story event. This was originally made as a featured event, but we're making it permanent so that it will be available again.
Known Issues:
- Perpetrator Incapacitation Device costume is not final.
- The Raven piece always shows two ravens instead of respecting Left/Right/Both choices.
- The Ravenswood Stun Blaster costume does not unlock.
- Some materials in the Ravenswood costume are not showing their proper display names.
- Minor clipping on the Ravenswood costume, especially when modifying the body mass slider
Male: bracers, chest layer, leg accessory, foot accessory, helmet
Female: bracers, foot accessory, leg accessory.

Please stay on topic in this PTS thread. We use bug reports from this thread to decide whether a PTS build is ready to go live, and so we need to make sure we're seeing everything in it. Please do discuss the changes, but if you find yourself writing about something that isn't specific to what's on PTS, then that should probably go elsewhere.
In particular, do not report bugs from the live game in this thread, unless they are impacted by changes in the PTS build.
Bug: Ravenswood Costume Set - Color 2 affecting shade of Color 3 channel What: Color 3 Channel on the following pieces is being affected by bleed of Color 2 preventing true color matching being achieved. Where:
Tights - Chest - Cloth, Leather, Metal
Tights - Legs - Cloth, Leather, Metal
Chest Layer - Cloth, Leather, Metal
Bracers - Cloth, Leather, Metal (really hard to see as only small disc emblem is color 3)
Shoulder Pads - Cloth, Leather, Metal
Note: Color bleed does not occur on leg accessories or feet accessories!
Bug: Shoulders Clipping through Ravenswood Chestwear What: Even on default mass and shoulder size, female character shoulders clip through the shoulder straps of Chestwear - not minor as affected on default size
Bug: Shoulders Clipping through Ravenswood Arm Accessory
What: Even on default mass and shoulder size, female character shoulders clip through the arm accessory - not minor as affected on default size
Bug: Ravenswood Shoulder Pads float ridiculously far off shoulders on female - presumably to accomodate overly large arm accessories
So I take it that it's a no on the whole "making the lockbox electric laser gun device add a power icon to your powerbar" thing then....just sayin, if you made the device do that [like the cloak of infinite planes does] it would make said device roughly infinity+1% easier to use with a non standard control layout....so could you please add this to the device?
on a side note, what's with all the raven themed things? I know we got a new open world prop but still...are you prehaps hinting at something bigger?
In all things, a calm heart must prevail.
Member of Paragon Dawn: Because some people like friendly helpful communities.
Yeah some things are broken... no I don't use/abuse them.. where would be the fun in that?
It would be far more beneficial to fix the problem where all of our costumes we have unlocked are on the PTS. As it stands now, it appears that what is available is either pre- On Alert or the very basic costumes. This causes a problem as most of us have acquired many, many more costume parts since that point- and the best test of a costume is to see how it works with other costume parts without horrendous clipping issues.
There are quite a few inconsistencies with colors on costumes- for example, some can have the same shade of red applied to the same 'material', but different costume parts will have a different 'shade' to them. This would be easier to use if we were to mix & match everything we have with the new costumes.
Lockbox Updates
- Added the Shoulder Raven costume piece to upcoming items. This will be the Lockbox Bonus Card item for the Scoundrel, Foxbat vs. Defender & Ravenwood lockboxes.
It's extremely disappointing that the Lockbox Bonus Card is not its own unique themed piece, but instead a piece taken from the Ravenswood costume.
I'm very happy that some powers are being bugfixed. Maybe in the future Overdrive will properly proc on Sword Cyclone?
It's great to see Socrates content being made permanent. Thank-you.
It's extremely disappointing that the Lockbox Bonus Card is not its own unique themed piece, but instead a piece taken
Yeah, if this is true... it's kind of lazy, to be honest. I'd honestly rather get an IOU and wait on something better. The last thing we got was pretty sick, this is just... kinda disappointing, really.
Is it possible to make a new category called 'shoulder accessory'? It'd be a pretty nifty thing, you could put things like these Ravens, parrots, a monkey, a shoulder cannon, missile launcher, etc. on there.
Is it possible to make a new category called 'shoulder accessory'? It'd be a pretty nifty thing, you could put things like these Ravens, parrots, a monkey, a shoulder cannon, missile launcher, etc. on there.
Typically Lockbox card rewards are a couple items, not just 1. Would it be possible to get a couple more animals? I'm sure a kitty would be popular. Would be neat if you made the tail wiggle
I'd have preferred the second set of shoulder pads be another costume unlock and Gravity Driver be the lock box set bonus reward.
Making the device show its button the hotbar would be nice too, but its a bit iffy since you can't choose where the power goes without messing up builds.
The knockback and "repel" knockback fixes are greatly appreciated.
"- Shotgun Blast, Iron Cyclone, and Micromunitions should now apply Knock Resist after causing a Knock effect on players."
Working that way for me!
I'm happier with just the vehicle callouts - I realize these are just going to be a thing like they are in other Cryptic games, but I still hate dislike them a lot. Seems kinda noisy But since people are going to now know when you acquire rare items, I hope you guys revisit the trading system. It is much too easy to scam people in Champions. Trades need to have a two step verification (each person accept trade, then a confirmation box). Right now, each trade with a stranger is a gamble that you will lose your items. This new callout on lockboxes will let scammers know specifically who to target.
Intriguing. Since we are getting fixes in, can we add weight to player tails now and have them actually sag down instead of sticking out like they were full of Ritalin? I know that's a bit off the wall request, but just steal it from STO or something.
Having weighted parts opens up things like chains, straps, ammo belts, etc. Is this possible?
Also, at some point the 'weight' of some hanging parts (Persian Belt comes to mind) needs to be engaged. A squirrel fart sends that thing into a whipping fury.
- Global Callout: Removed global callout for costumes. Only the vehicles are called out now which should reduce the callouts by ~80%. (Note: Character names appear in the global callouts, not account names.)
Fewer callouts is an improvement, but my primary issue with this practice is not the quantity; it's the fact that I am forced to contribute to it. Voyagersix aptly described the effect of these Callouts in the previous thread. This is why they improve sales:
These alarms are equivalent to the winning klaxons in slot machine casinos. There are hundreds of slot machines, but wherever you are, you can hear the alarm when that rare person wins something with no indicator of how much was spent to trigger that alarm.
The intent is a common deception to trick you into believing that a disproportionately high number of people are winning the extremely rare prizes. The more often you witness the alarm, the more likely you are to believe the odds of winning are high. There are no alarms for losing, so the only alarms you will ever see are for good fortune.
Objectively, these Callouts are perfectly legal and within the Terms of Service. Subjectively, I consider this form of marketing to be psychologically manipulative. Part of that opinion is personal conviction; another part is family history. Cryptic is free to engage in this practice as they wish, but please do not compel me to contribute to a business activity that I consider unethical. The way it is currently implemented, my participation is mandatory.
If I choose to gamble on a lockbox and receive a rare prize, I have no control over the resulting message or who receives it. I do not wish to send "My Character got a Flaming Hovercar from the Ravenswood Lockbox!" to someone prone to impulse buying and gambling addiction. Please let me opt out of this practice.
If I simply log onto the game, I am forced to receive Callouts from other players, willingly subjecting myself to a psychological marketing trigger. Please let me opt out of this practice.
Keeping the system the way it is forces me to participate in a marketing scheme to which I conscientiously object, as either a sender or recipient of a marketing message. At the very least, let me turn off the reception of Callouts, which as I understand is already an option in STO. I can prevent sending messages by not opening lockboxes, but currently the only way to prevent myself from receiving them is to not play Champions Online.
I realize that it may seem silly to complain so much about a line of text that occasionally pops up on a computer monitor. Persuading people to gamble is an important issue to me, and I hope you consider my opinions thoughtfully.
It's a nice effort that you listened, but I'm pretty sure that even the vehicle spam is too much. Can you just put this in Zone or Trade channels?
This ^
So LadyGlad, care to explain me this?: Your feedback is valuable and we have already proven that we listen to it.
Where is the proof?, I don't see an choice or the call-outs beening removed, if you give us the choice to remove it by player choice or get rid of it all together period, THAT is proof you listen to it, go on now, replie back to me and tell me excaly what you think.
On top of that, whuold it be wise, if I whuold post an bug about the PSIs onto its bug page but allowed a link to that page on here so it chuold be looked into?
They've already changed things about the lockbox and the callout feature itself based on our feedback; that's your proof. I don't want to speak for the developers, but there's likely a good reason for them to keep that feature in. They gotta weigh the good with the bad that comes with it.
Other Bug Fixes

Please please please allow us to disable those lockbox award notifications - it is intrusive. I don't like it on STO, every time I see it displayed I respond with "Who cares". I'm already cringing at the thought of on-screen in game commercial spam.
It's unfortunate that the bonus item is part of the costume set I'm willing to gamble for with this new Ravenswood lockbox - I guess no bonus item for me then

- Updated icons for several Ravenswood items.
Glad to see callout is limited to vehicles and since they have a reduced drop rate, hopefully that means the callouts will be manageable. Still not fond of the new feature but I get why it is being added.
Still, despite this reduction, I have heard that other games have the ability to turn this feature off. Will there be such an option in place for Champions Online? If so how can we utilize this feature?
Questions:
The stun component of Gravity Driver. Has this been made a special kind of stun so that it does not inappropriately stack with Manipulator? (I'm assuming it working with Manipulator in terms of stun duration is NOT intended)
I guess since it's just character names, this feature could feed Caliga's ego by having his name broadcasted to the masses, regardless of what zone they are in?

... *pokes the NPC power fixes & FATAL ERR0R fix*...Is this real life? *is unable to even*
Damn. These NPC Powers irritated the hell out of me and so many others, thank you for addressing them! I guess block is back in business!
Also a few other things if you are still turning your attention to Alerts...wait...since it hasn't got anything to do with the current build, I'll make a new thread for it.
I would feel a lot better about the callouts if a player using /hide were not broadcasted.
I'd like to second this. There are times when you want that function to work. Please allow us an option to disable callouts from appearing. Pretty please?
I do not think the Argent version of Frag Grenade is the same as the Warlord alert version.
The Argent version does a normal repel (on PTS and on live), while the Warlord version knocks you off your feet.
On PTS the Argent version gives repel resistance stacks now, but I do not think a normal repel really needs resistance stacks.
The biggest complaints about Frag Grenade are not about the Argent repelling version, it's the Warlord version that is really annoying. The Warlord version knocks you off your feet, seems to be bypasses knock resistance, and does not give knock resistance stacks.

I'll be frank, I've always found this "feature" to be annoying as blazes over on STO, especially since I have to filter out ALL system messages to get it to stop. I would be quite happy to see it dropped by the wayside like the fetid piece of roadkill it is. Does anyone really care if little Timmy2456 got a useless racecar?

Cryptic cares apparently, probably because there is a chance that impulseshopper2231 might get the urge to buy keys as a result. Though if impulseshopper2231 repeatedly fails to get the item he is trying to get, chances are he will quickly become frustrated, eventually frustration will give way to anger and they will go someplace else where they can scratch the necessary itch.
Based on the above results, I'd say the drop rate was increased a bit, not a lot.
I was expecting a test like this to yield 150 to 200 Gravity Drivers, not 65. I think somewhere within those ranges would live up to the statement that the drop rate has been increased a lot, as said here:
Regarding the Gravity Driver drop rate, we increased it a lot. You should be able to see it in our next patch.
Ignoring that the highest possible stun duration in game lies between 14-20 seconds with Manipulator and other "fun stuff" mixed in (could be lower like 14-17 seconds, I seriously CBA to re-test. I don't like the fact that stuns are as powerful as they are now anyway, but that isn't up for discussion right now.)....I am curious as to why the stun component on Gravity Driver was reduced. No one complained about it and it wasn't breaking anything.
Has the damage from Gravity Driver been increased slightly to compensate for this nerf or has nothing been done?
The new drop rate for GD tokens is around 6%, and the previous rate was perhaps a little less than 3%.
That is doubling the drop rate.
Once again, this means that an average user would need to open 16 or 17 boxes to get GD, which works out to 1650 Z.
The thing is, there are folks that really, really want the hovercars. They will still need to open, on average, something like 150 boxes. In their pursuit of a vehicle, they will get something like 9 or 10 GD tokens. One to use, and a bunch to sell.
I dunno. Still seems a little too rare for a new power.

Minimum drop rate should be 10%, in my opinion.
Whoever you are, be that person one hundred percent. Don't compromise on your identity.
Agreed. Well, I do wonder...what has gone LIVE today?
Bug fixes to NPC powers? Nothing? Server restart?(unlikely since something patched in...)
