Why does it never rain in Millennium City?

theravenforcetheravenforce Posts: 7,065 Arc User
Just wondered if anyone had any ideas as to why.

It rained during the Lemurian Invasion and it rains on Monster Island...

Maybe it would cause lag in such a populated area.

No such issue exists in the Lemurian Invasion or Tutorial (the latter of which is quite saturated with NPC models).

Aside from Rencen, which is crowded with players at all times and regularly causes issues anyway, I don't see what problems having a random weather system would pose.

Millennium City already has enough problems with the size of the map. Also messing with the default zone effects is already enough of a hassle.

The rain is kept off by the network of connection points hanging over the city for the benefit of everyone using Swinging.

I'm more interested in why a city in the middle of Michigan has so many buildings with huge, uncloseable entrances to many of its buildings. Average temps for that area are 20-33F in January. I'd hate to imagine what the heating costs for some of those buildings are.

Because the weatherman at WCOC secretly has the power to control weather and chooses that it'll be sunny everyday in MC. With a slight chance of CHAOS!

Because Cryptic is running on a weather control system, to keep the graphic requierements down.
It's either the Fudget Up Traffic or Rain Around The Year...
And there's still fires burning in the Old Detroit, so the snow won't stick to the ground for long.

Maybe someone is collecting the rain water above MC, and releases as snow during Xmas event...

Thank you, now I have the Robocop TV series music stuck in my head.

Hmm... well, there's my next Munitions based character.

I've always been bothered by exactly that. I think about those folks working in the bank all winter long.

I thought it was because of the limits of the devs and nothing more O.O
