Right now I have Heroic Gear that's slotted with Gambler's. My stats aren't great (300 Con, 200 PRE/DEX) but I know with some better gear she will be indestructable. She can easily solo the adds in Therakiel's Temple on elite. As I just finished this toon I haven't had a great deal of testing done, but I do know that DOT is no problem, meaning she can, and does, aggro multiple mobs easily. However, spike damage can get the best of her at the moment. Just wanted to show you my take on an infernal build. If you have any questions or ideas let me know.
I first started off following that build and I didn't like it. I'm not saying that it's not a great build, I just never had enough health/energy when I used it. Unless I was constantly spamming conviction I never had enough energy and had to use my builder, which meant I couldn't hold epidemic long to really build up poison. I also had to spend a significant amount of time watching my health as soon as masterful dodge dropped. Yeah, this toon took a big hit in DPS, maybe down by half, but it is, for me, significantly easier to play.
Yeah, Taco's build is really good, but it takes some nice gearing and breaking into to make it work.
Did you use the PH planner for this build post? If so, its better to copy&paste from the Export tab, than to use the Preview tab; the former includes coloration and a link to the full build due to the embedded code.
Also, ur build lacks a toggle/form- so ur missing out on much potential extra energy and damage (and/or healing) bonus. Form of the Tempest would be the easiest fit for the SS setup ya have atm. Compassion could also work w/ Pres SS.
I can't believe I missed that! I was looking at form of the tempest too, but decided not to use it because it increases melee damage, and I only have 1 melee attack. I must have overlooked putting in a toggle. So, now, I'm thinking either I'm going to go with Aspect of the infernal which gives a flat 1% dmg increase(5 stacks) every time I apply poison, or compassion for the heals. If I get compassion I would drop resurgence, but I don't know what to drop if I get aspect of the infernal instead.
Form of the Tempest increases ranged damage as well, but at half the value of its melee bonus. One thing to consider when choosing a toggle form is what stat(s) are used to scale the form's buff. Form of the Tempest scales with DEX, which is one of your chosen superstats. It can also be triggered with either of your attack powers, so you can rest easy knowing it will stay stacked whether you're expelling gas clouds or eating souls.
Aspect of the Infernal would stack quickly if you're maintaining Epidemic, but wouldn't stack at all during Devour Essence. It also scales with either EGO or INT (whichever is higher) and gives its full damage bonus to ranged attacks; half to melee attacks. If you do choose to go that route, I would recommend changing one of your superstats to INT to provide a meaningful damage bonus from the form.
As mentioned, Compassion would scale with your PRE superstat and you have Sentinel Aura to stack it passively. Compassion also buffs all damage, but at half the value of its healing bonus. Lots of options to consider.
Everything I read about form of the tempest only mentioned melee, knowing it's both I am definitely going to use that. Two questions, I still don't know what power to drop for it without sacrificing defenses/health regeneration, and also, does the advantage only affect allies, or is it a self heal too.
FoTT's advantage only affects allies; it doesn't generate an extra self-heal. Its 8-second cooldown is also very limiting. You're likely to miss out on triggering it with a big heal like Resurgence or Ascension because it was put on cooldown from something minor like a Devour Essence tick.
If you don't want to drop any of your defensive powers, I would probably swap out Sonic Device (useful burst damage, but not essential) for the toggle form.
It's also worth mentioning that Eternal Spring doesn't work on self-heals, and Rejuvenated doesn't work with any of your selected powers (Bountiful Chi should logically trigger it, but the game thinks otherwise). In fact, if you're not using Compassion or Sentinel Mastery shenanigans, you'll probably get more use out of a different spec tree.
Compassion can stack w/o needing Sentinel Aura here, since he's using Regen. Even w/o Regen, ya can still get Compassion to auto-stack via 1 point in Quick Recovery in Str PSS (even the tiny heal is enough to proc it in combat). And yeah, dun bother w/ FotT's Gift adv- its too weak and on too long of an icd to justify the 3 adv points.
I would second dropping something like Sonic Device for the toggle- for whichever toggle ya pick. Guardian or Warden would likely be the 2nd spec that ya want to pick if ya consider dropping Sentinel, since either works very well w/ Vindicator (though you'll prob want to get Merciless in Vind- I'd take points from Modified Gear and/or Rush of Battle for it).
ok, so I did some tweaking, what's your thought? I decided to go with the avenger tree because of my aoe maintain. However, maybe the guardian tree would be better with fortified gear, locus, tenacious, and the best defense. PowerHouse(Link to this build)

Devour Essence is one of the most unique powers in the game. I've generally avoided using it because it really puts the game on easy mode for 99% of the content. But after Frosticus appeared I retconned The Blood Queen into what IMHO is truly an "ultimate" Devour Essence build:
With DEX PSS and Justice/Vigilante/Hospitable Eyepiece gear, all slotted for CON and HEALING MODS for superior in DPS and Healing. Primarily played in Hybrid mode (can do tank mode too), the Rank 3 Devour Essence can maintain 1K critical HEALS. Conviction is a minimum of 1650 heal (used when you get knocked away) and your Ascension heal can crit for 7K (crazy mass heal for all).
DPS is about 4K in Hybrid, damage resistance is ~195%, critical severity is 118% with 30% critical rate. Total heal bonuses are about 140% before Ascension (Justice & Vigilante Heal and Sentinel mod). Energy Shield w/Laser Knight is the best melee shield for shedding damage (with DE, its way better than Ebon Void).
You can farm the Justice Gear and save up for the mods and Vigilante. If you can save more and get a Necrullitic Elixir (or two!) you will become a self healing beast!!!
Frosticus just pounds on her with 4K-5K hits constantly but all that damage is self healed crazy fast.
DEX PSS and DE Rank 3 is better than CON PSS and DE Rank 2 in DPS and heals due to Expose Weakness and the +30% crit severity. Defiance will give you more energy than CON PSS too.
Don't worry about the 30% critical rate, you got the 140% in heal bonuses which guarantees much better heals. I rotate Ego Surge and Ascension as AOs and it's better heals from crit or the heal bonus either way.
I do wonder how good dps some of your builds would be if ya changed them to being committed dps role + offensive passive.. 4k dps is crazy for a Hybrid w/ a defensive passive that's also getting Laser Knight's penalty.
DE is one of the best powers in the game though, yeah. Dex PSS is a bit unexpected, but I can see how its a good choice when combo'd w/ CoPD here.

Amazing build, as always.
Thanks so much bro. The DEX PSS is mainly for the Dex Mastery so I can have my severity while gearing a Justice Healing Glove with a DUC and healing mod. This build is fun for that crazy healing when you have 10 PRE and no Compassion stacks. So cool in Grav seeing 7K+ Ascension heals float all over the place.
The odd thing I find with some of my tank builds when swapped to DPS roles is how little the DPS increases sometimes. Like my DE is 3.5K in tank, Laser Sword is 4K, swap to WotW and I get only about 5.5K?! But others like Rimefire/Ice and Massacre do much better, like 60% more DPS than tank role. It's befuddling.

Well, assuming crit rng and energy aren't any different between the hybrid/tank and dps setups, part of that smaller difference is prob due to the passive dmg DR. If ur at a high gear level and/or have high AO uptime, ya can get high passive dmg w/o even having an offensive passive, such that an offensive passive wouldn't be doing nearly as much as it could.
Ur SS investment also prob impacts that in a minor way- like instead of the expected ~25% dps increase from just swapping hybrid->dps, I may see it be only 18-20%.. possibly due to having more invested in the SSS's than the PSS for many builds (assuming not mixing ranged and melee here). Otherwise, I dunno.. lotsa variables out there (debuffs, burst cds, input/activation delay, etc.) could impact it.
Taco's build does not work for me. It's not a leveling build; I find that it runs out of energy far too quickly. I've spoken to him on this subject, and he suggests that you switch out MSA for Supernatural Power on the build for leveling.
Which brings me to a point: Hey, guys, it's wonderful if a build is all uber-powerful at level 30 or so, but remember that we have to GET to that level in the first place, and if the build doesn't work until level X or so, please put it in the description, and possibly suggest a leveling build as well. Because there's nothing I hate more than putting effort into a build and finding out that it doesn't really work until level 30, and now I have to retcon the character or reroll. And I'm a casual player; retcons for me cost lots of resources I do not have.

Well.. I know I'd be annoyed at having to post a low-level version of each full build that I ever put on the forums. I'd rather not waste my time doing stuff like that (since its a bit of a slippery slope anyways), unless I knew someone actually requested it.
Its best to assume that a full build was fully filled out for a reason, and ask or request about its leveling capability before diving headlong into it. Regardless, its not fully the build poster's fault if there wasn't any communication going on between him/her and the user in that regard.
Monster or flow, without the special gear mentioned, how would that build be tweaked for someone starting out? In terms of stats? Dex was mentioned coupled to using specific gear I assume I won't be able to get to for awhile.
Also starting at lvl 1, is there a leveling path to start and then perhaps at lvl X switch to this build?
Thanks - still learning. The more examples I see the more it will make sense
If ya want an easy time leveling w/ Infernal SN, then def use Supernatural Power as ur EU and grab some Rec and End on ur gear. W/ enough energy stats, ya can basically spam ur SN powers as much as ya want due to Supernatural Power. Grab Epidemic early (if fitting), a fast combat travel power (since the AoE doesn't root you), either Concentration or AotInfernal as ur toggle, and leveling through solo stuff is a breeze. If ya want to not worry about ur survival then take Regen as ur slotted passive and use Hybrid role, or take Pestilence and the Ranged dps role if ya want more of a dps focus. Devour Essence and Resurgence can help patch up tough spots. Gear for some Int, Rec/End, crit rating, and Con_MaxHP. That's about it for the basics.
