In a fantasy setting those powers are actually really freaking good.
Considering Worms can grow upwards of 40 feet, have rows upon rows of teeth the size of kitchen knives and the ability to burrow through the ground faster than you can walk...
Lets not forget that 'Amoebas' family includes things like the infamous Gelatinous Ooze, which can eat through ANYTHING living one 10 foot by 10 foot square at a time.
Sure someone has 'rodent control', you laugh about it, you joke about it but then that guy proceeds to summon all the rats in a 100 foot area in an urban setting to eat someone alive and it all gets a little bit more Dishonoured in your respect for that guy.
In our own discussion of useless superpowers, one of us brought up the idea of the ability to control shoelaces with your mind, until it was pointed out that you can strangle someone to death with them, cause them to fall over, bind their hands or, if given a high enough concentration of people, essentially create giant shoelace constructs.
my favourite 2nd ed D&D spell was irritation. 2nd level spell, all it did was give the target an itchy rash. Catch: you didn't stop itching till you scratched, which involved removing your armour.
second favourite: Hairy cantrip- grows hair 2-12inches.Permanent.
eyebrows, eyelashes, nosehair(for the gross), groin hair for the vindictive.(especially in chain mail)
The GM rapidly worked out why I didn't bother to get the standard attack spells. Didn't need them, I went for ... non standard utility spells.
So what would happen if you used Giant Growth on a Gelatinous Cube to make it big enough to where it could envelop a Tarresque... and then dropped it on said Tarresque?
tarrasque has major damage resistance, armour and regen. Then you have its hitpoints.
Size: 70ft by 50ft
Damage Reduction 25/+5
Spell Resistance 32
HP: 840 (Hit Dice: 48)
AC 35
Attack damage: 4d8+17, 1d10+8, 1d10+8, 1d12+8, 1d12+8, 3d8+8.
All attacks have at least +52 to-hit. You can forget about armor.
Stats: STR 45, DEX 16, CON 35, INT 3, WIS 14, CHA 14
Saves: Fort +38, Ref +29, Will +20
Regeneration 40/round
Indestructible: Tarrasque can regenerate from all forms of damage. In
order to kill him, you must reduce him to -30HP and cast Wish or
Miracle over his remains.
Imposing Presence DC 20 (when Tarrasque attacks, enemies make Will saves
or are Shaken)
Anti-Magic Carapace: Tarrasque's natural armor reflects magic, sometimes
onto the caster.
Rush: Once per minute, the Tarrasque can move at "a speed of 150 feet."
Is that the total it moves in a round, or its base speed?
Spot: Tarrasque has +21 to Spot checks, with an additional +8 to spot
invisible creatures. Invisibility will not protect you.
Listen: Tarrasque also has +21 to Listen checks. Don't try to sneak up
on him unless you're very, very good. Fire Immunity
Poison Immunity
Disease Immunity

Combine the grease cantrip, Tenser's floating disc (floating about shin-high, at either end of the grease), and the top of a stairwell (or a pit trap, if you can find one). Hours of fun for the whole family!

I preferred grease, stairs and fire finger cantrip.

Well then the question becomes, how musch damage would a Gelatinous Cube of that size deal Per Turn once it had engulfed the Tarrasque and how potent would the Paralysis be, along with the fact that the Tarrasque does need to breath so it is possible the cube could suffocate it.
These are questions we're unlikely to answer BUT it would be a clash of the titans I can assure you and would probably require a wish spell to sort out the end of it.
A Tarrasque's Regeneration rate is sufficient that a Gelatinous Cube couldn't kill it. Could be a terrible inconvenience, though...
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"
And to your left you can see our national monument, the Tarresque encased in a giant Gelatinous Cube, forever locked in a titanic immobile struggle... Mystra help us should either of them ever win or if they should ever even be separated. And up ahead to your right you'll see a Cat Lord... please do keep your hands to yourselves...
Never cast a find familiar spell with a translation spell.
it was in orcish, so my sadistic GM gave my low level character a panther cub. It had more hit points than her. which means instant death if it gets killed.
