No seriously. Okay, I'll admit, I just took a build from someone, added Retaliation to it and switched some Adv. point placement here and there. But it's mostly to ask you if the build is viable.

PowerHouse (Link to this build)

Name:

Archetype: Freeform

Super Stats:
Level 6: Constitution (Primary)
Level 10: Dexterity (Secondary)
Level 15: Intelligence (Secondary)

Level 1: The Hero
Level 6: Academics
Level 9: Acrobat
Level 12: Coordinated
Level 15: Shooter
Level 18: Healthy Mind
Level 21: Ascetic

Level 1: Strafe
Level 1: Straight Shot (Rank 2, Crippling Challenge)

Level 26: Molecular Self-Assembly
Level 29: Masterful Dodge
Level 32: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 35: Ego Surge (Nimble Mind)
Level 38: Explosive Arrow (Where's the Kaboom?)

Level 35: Teleportation

Specializations:
Constitution: Unyielding (2/2)

Again, is this build still viable?

very feasible, any powerset can be used as a tank or DPS, support is the more challenging role for some powersets

i would take the protector tree instead of the avenger one. so you can build threat in hybrid role since you can't use tank role with that passive.

This my version of an archery tank build that can also put out a decent amount of DPS. It's sort of inspired, loosely, by Turok. A dimensional wandering warrior from a distant and savage world that ends up in the CO world.

Its tough, durable and very low maintenance. You have FoTT and Dragon Claws, for quick energy gains and the rush bush, with Dragons Claws also serving as a boss killer. The energy gains in this build make spaming maintains of Storm of Arrows, an energy hungry power, quite possible and a high damage move even on single big targets.

It's my take on a tanky archery build and works quite nicely. What you have there though is a very nice build and should also allow you to take on a ranged tank role.

Just like w/ Fire w/ UA + Conflag, the main positive to an Archery tank would be its good incidental AoE while its tanking. Its single-target moves are pretty weak overall (here, just to quickly add the CripC debuff.. and maybe Split the Arrow debuff if pairing Straight Shot w/ Sonic Arrow or Snap Shot).

EM is also in-theme, so ya can get high dodge% if ya want to get it to rank3 w/ LR or another dodge-granting passive.

The best support ones being, what, Celestial, Gadgeteering, Telepathy, Sorcery as a whole?

I think support is much broader than that. I mean, to me, if you take PBR and Planar Fracture, you can technically be support. The aura passives, especially AoPM are some of the most widely used passives out there, and those pretty much make insta-support toons.

You don't have to be a healer, or even take Sentinel Aura to be support. There are many ways to make this happen.

Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

i didnt say support couldnt be done with any powerset.(although many powersets lack support abilities in that set) It's just that every powerset can more easily do DPS or tank. personally i like to build my support as support/tanks.

It makes for a strange image if you forget the metaphorical nature of the work "tank." An archery tank. I'm picturing an M1A1 Abrams with a catapult instead of a main gun.
