Hey there!

I just happened to have a terrible and scary experience (huzzah for Halloween coincidence? =p). Four days ago I tried to login into the game just to find out I was banned. Of course this was rather unpleasant since I didn't do anything that broke the rules.

I contacted PWE costumer service and got a timely response (kudos PWE costumer support, you are actually quite good, unlike many claim!) and what happened is that it seems that I logged in from a blacklisted IP.

Everything -as you might have noticed lol- is sorted out now and I can login back into the game/forums.

But...

I wanna find the culprit behind this, so it doesn't happen again. I have a couple of theories... one its that long ago, like 5 months ago I logged in with this account, from my dentist, to the profession gateway of Neverwinter. Besides that I don't remember logging this account anywhere else than home.

Also... I noticed something else recently. I tried to login into the game but my password wouldn't work. I logged into the mail account I had this game bound into, and had a warning that someone from the states logged in with it (I am from Mexico). Also that account had a horrible password...terrible mistake considering I had a champions LTS bound to that account. Mistake I've already mended.

So maybe the attack could had come from there?? its possible. Though there werent any emails on that account saying that I changed my PWE password.... though maybe he was smart and deleted that?.

Or... maybe it was a hiccup from my ISP and it used an unusual IP this is blacklisted by PWE?

Or... maybe PWE blacklisted an IP near my region and I was affected by that?

And one last thing... I just don't wanna know I am running a "fishy" version of my launcher.

Does your launcher look like this guys?

launcher.png

The "live" and "public test" used to have icons... they don't do anymore since a couple of updates ago.

Hope you can help me guys =)

PS: Feels good to be back!!! thanks PWE costumer service!

Sorry to hear about your troubles and glad you made it back safely :)
I thought it was odd to not see you loitering around CCs

And yes, my launcher looks like that, so just based on that, I'd say that you're okey dey!

Thanks for the feedback... at least I don't have a fishing tool installed on my launcher, thats good to know haha. I already did a full scan of my system and everything seems alright.

We shall see how it goes in the next few days, hopefully the ban won't back.

And shoooo Karma! I don't loiter in CCs.... well.... err... not all the time =p

@Finn I knew it!!! the sneaky bastard!! he wanted more than my teeth!

If your ISP has a dynamic IP address in place, I don't think it's particularly unusual that you might have stumbled across one that was blacklisted. Especially in Mexico; there's a lot of seedy activities in that country of yours.

Ugh I hope its not the case though its possible. The sucky thing is that my IP changes on a daily basis, so this could happen again if this is the case.

And yup... I am aware of the seedy activities, though Internet I am quite sure its not one of the biggest.... I am quite sure that's more of an issue in Russia and Germany

The way to solve that then is contact your ISP and see if they can find out which IP address it is and find some way of routing you around it.

Thing is its the IP not you. Ive tried log on via my laptop in an Internet Cafe , It LOOKED like I was banned. Turned out it was just that places IP. Some kids must have been trolling while logged onto a PWE game in that certain cafe.

Was that simple. If its your IP thats banned I suggest you make sure your internet is password protected as to me it looks like someone is stealing your internets.

...Internet Cafes still exist? O.o of all the places.. Japan would be the last place I'd expect one to be.
