PTS toons get deleted every 2 weeks I think. So what would be the point? Let alone that zstore doesn't work there...
No they don't. There was one wipe a while back. There may be more in the future but they are not common.
A bit of advice, toon generated on the PTS will not have a hideout if you own one on live. But if you make a toon on live and make sure it has a hideout picked then port it over it will have access to the hideout and the all important shared bank account. Also the all the costume sets you have bought on live or unlocked through game play will be unavailable on the PTS but a toon ported in will retain any of those pieces it is wearing (but if you remove them in the tailor, you can't get them back)
I agree. Whenever i go to the PTS, i see around one to two players online.
Since the "Screw subbers, focus on micro-transactions" is Cryptic's mindset, they may aswell give them the PTS. Oh wait, but then the silver majority would test all the bugs and report them - and i'm pretty sure the devs are tired of reading bug reports.
then everyone will be on the PTS and live will be abandoned.
99% of gold subs I've teamed with since 2011 have never even heard of the PTS, hell half of them don't even know about their own hideouts.
What do you think the knowledge level of free to play players is like?
With the average player quitting before level 12, what are the odds of even a dozen of them ever showing up for a day on PTS?
Players who pay a sub want their time to be valuable, a kill is xp, its questionite, a winning run of alerts is zen, zen adds to account value.
PTS offers none of this, instead it says "Do our job that we can't do, find the bugs we are too busy on Star Trek and Neverwinter to find, oh and pay us for it"
This is a terrible business practice and its not working.
Cryptic has nothing at all to lose by opening PTS to a larger audience.
Nobody is going to be there unless there's something new to test anyway.
Whats the average time between new content to test, three weeks?
and now they have changed the chance to get a AF as if it were a Grab bag. What has it been the last couple of times...one AF to a ranadom person per 20 posts of feedback

My super cool CC build and how to use it.
Exactly. "Whoo! I have a level 40 character without effort! Now what?"
Also PTS access gates out some features like access to CrypticChat from outside of the game.

Same here. The last time one was available I couldn't access Twitch chat which was a requirement so I was screwed out of that chance.
