Just to hear the screams

I have just finished levelling another alt.
I want to try making a tank that runs in support and uses compassion, just to hear the screams of 'why aren't you healing?'

Ravenforce has already mentioned aura of radiant protection,

any other suggestions?
crippling /challenging strikes(it took 4 tries to spell strike)
con stat(especially since It'll be in support)
attacks to get their attention is easy enough.
heals- I usually use a combo of BCR/Resurge, sometimes palliate or celestial conduit or lifedrain for adding insult to injury by healing the party.

spec trees?
gear types?

Sentinel Aura is a visible healer sort of power thingy - this might give the effect you are looking for, but of course it is actually useful to your allies so maybe not.

I use Sentinel Aura and Conviction on my PA tank. Adds just that little bit of damage, and the bonus healing helps when it is needed.

With invuln and a solid block, only a few things will really hurt you anyways.

Radiance as an energy builder, preferably with the Initiative spec.

    "Why aren't you healing?"
    "Sorry, I'll start healing."

got my first sucker at level 13,
    asked why I wasn't healing.
I pointed out I had radiance, it was crap and I was level 13.

    They just said, level faster

now have radiance, 2GM, lifedrain with adv, compassion, bubble, AoRP rank 3.(and I want to complain, they get better defence from it than me
next level I get overdrive, the I can start stacking challenge instead of worryign about energy

I use BUGMAN to "tank"-lite Gravitar fights. He is designed to be tough, but not uber. Resilient is the main thing. If he dies, he POPS back up.

2 passives: Defiance (for Grav) and Shadow form for basic content

    Here's where it gets interesting:
-Circle of Radiant Glory (if he dies in it, he revives. you get AoE heals when you tap it)
-Life drain (AoE heals + dmg)
    -Compassion (make the heals BETTER)
-Conviction (just didn't put the AoE portion on this one, since he has plenty of other AoE heals)
    -Rebirth (self rez)
    -Redemption (rez other)
-Shadow bolt w/ adv to get the Fear for Life Drain
-Ebon Void (block + minor heal)
-Shadow Embrace (no CS, so not a real tank)
-Summon Shadow (adv to heal while they do dmg, which isn't very long in a Gravitar fight)

He doesn't REALLY tank the fight, but he is awesome as a tanky healer in melee range of Gravitar. Provides healing to almost everyone else nearby. Except when all those dinos are swarming her.
    .

I agree, I approve of everything about this character and this thread.

I only wish I was better at character builds so I could help.

Well, compassion helps with a little bit of dps, but mostly healing.

So you if you have a tank that relies on heals (Like my PA tank uses Bionic Shielding and Conviction), it's handy to have.

    Also works with Lifedrain.
