PvE Soloing Build Questions (very light theme)

Hmm, been playing for around a week or so and have a few questions involving being able to solo PvE with really, really nasty lag (I'm on a stat uplink.).

The build's very light basic theme is primarily an energy weilder, mostly dimensional with force and maybe TK thrown in. Due to lag and my general soloing personality, high survivality is a must or I'm toast.

So far I've got...

Superstats

REC
EGO
CON

(Not sure whether to take CON or REC as my primary, although I'm leaning towards REC as I've read that the additional healing from the spec tree is actually slightly better then CON without having to trigger anything. Although I must confess, the added Defence from EGO seems tempting but I'm not quite sure if it is as solid as it seems.)

(Energy Builder) -- Radiance
(1st Attack) -- Shadow Blast
(L5 Power) -- Vengeance
(L6 Travel) -- Fire Flight (Just like the fx after I've changed the hue color.)
(L8 Power) -- Passive Defence -- Regen??? -- Invul??? --- Something else completely???

I've also thinking about picking up TK Block since it lasts for a bit after I quit blocking, in order to help with the lag.

Also planning on dabbling with some knockback via force.

I assume that between shedding threat and invisiblity, Palliate is a soild backup heal for soloing?

Active Offensive -- Immolation (Mostly for the damage shield ability, lag again.)

Active Defense -- Resurgence (If I go the Regen route, not really sure otherwise.) Unbreakable sounds promising too.

Sorry if I'm a bit scattered, but I'm still trying to learn the rules. Thank you for your time.

*EDIT*

If I go the Regen route, I'm thinking Compassion as my "form power", but I havn't really read too much about forms yet so I could be totally off base.

*EDIT 2.0*

For some reason Concentration as struck my fancy as a form power as well.

    A few things:

If you're talking about Rapid Recovery in the REC tree, it's pathetic. Don't bother. You'd be lucky to get 100HP every 3 seconds out of it. If you're getting some crits, Adrenaline Rush from the CON tree is actually much better, especially if you decide go with the Protector tree and run in Tank mode since it's based off of a percent of your health.

I'm not completely sure as I actually haven't personally tried this myself, but to the best of my knowledge Compassion doesn't affect Regen. Regen scales off your Superstats and Compassion grants a +Healing bonus, which shouldn't effect Regen as a result.

As a general rule, threat wipes and perception reducers are pretty useless in solo PvP, if not an active detriment to your play in the case of threat wipes since they have this wonderful effect of causing the mobs to reset. Knocks and Stuns are generally a better bet. Note that stuns are different from incapacitates and paralyzes, incapacitates are pretty crap right now due to heavy handed and unnecessary nerfs and paralyzes are kinda hit or miss, usually being worth less than the time they took to charge.

...I just recently realized something really disturbing. We're all eating Sodapop3's "humble pie."

hmm, you have chosen some..really different powers. your energy builder will often have a synergy with your energy unlock. so if you like shadow, you should take the shadow energy builder, and shadow energy unlock, and the shadow AOE is the best in the game for tanking.

To me, the two easiest builds for beginners are Regen END CON/EGO Electric and Fire builds.

Your main power will be lightning arc, or fireball (Dont take the advantages on either of these powers yet, just rank them). Your passive is Regen.

Regen is the best for you because with Regen, Resurgence/MasterfulDodge/Unbreakable are all mitigation defenses. This is not true for other defensive passives. Regen is also good because if you hit a lag spike, you will still be alive with 3 henchmen and a villian hitting you when you come back.

Both fire and electric have an energy unlock that scale with end. Get this power as quickly as possible.

Your first END Specialty points should go to the option that makes your END increase your REC.

As your build levels, you will learn which AOEs and which advantages you like.

Here is a link to DPS/EPS charts that is a good guide (outdated guide) on most of the powers in the game.

EDIT: My bad, I forgot to tell you EGO is for ranged damage and Concentration form
