IDF Passive at Cosmics(Kiga, Ape, & Dino)

I did 5 cosmic fights this morning & for the 1st three fights I could not score enough to get credit whether in Support role or Hybrid. This was my first time trying the IDF passive at one of those fights. Is this a know issue with IDF? Some details:
- Like I said role didn't seem to matter.
- The character in question has a full distinguished set slotted with all r7 mods, two determination secondaries, & an onslaught glove all with r5 mods slotted.
- For the 2nd & 3rd fight I focused on trying to score by spamming R3 Burning Chi Fist while alternating between Support & Hybrid Role(one per fight) & couldn't score either time.
- When I switched to Invulnerability instead & continued to focus on spamming that one attack I managed to scored enough in both of the next two fights.
Neither IDF nor Invulnerability affect damage & everything else was the same so it feels like a bug. Can anyone confirm or deny? I've not had this issue at DRA or other cosmic level enemy fights.
