Help With A Living Puppet Build

benoitseanbenoitsean Posts: 322 Arc User
I created a character that resembles a living puppet (think of Pinocchio in street clothes). His name is Toy Boy. I haven't really decided on a set build for him yet. I know that I want him to have survivability first and foremost (he is a puppet after all) but I want his survivability to be passive like maybe Regeneration or Invulnerability and perhaps the drones. I also don't want him to be a tank (I have way too many tanks). I was thinking melee attacks or anything that might resemble him using toys to fight. I'm on the fence about giving him Attack Toys because they do a lot of knockbacks which I really don't like dealing with.

Here is a pic of what he looks like just to give everyone an idea:

And here he is in other street clothes:

And here he is in game:

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Iirc, Attack Toys KB is an active ability that you don't have to use. But even then I'd prob still take them as they are decent (for a normal dps pet) and fit the theme well. As a melee unit, I imagine that Might will cover most of its basic attacks well, but you can always request a different base set, if desired. Here's an example build:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform (Hybrid)
    v3.45:38

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Recovery (Secondary)
    Level 15: Constitution (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Devastator (Str: 10, Con: 10, Rec: 10, End: 8)
    Level 6: Paramilitary Training (Str: 3, Con: 3, Rec: 3, End: 3)
    Level 9: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 12: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 18: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
Level 21: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Boomerang Toss
Level 1: Beatdown (Blindside Blow, Reckless Endangerment)
    Level 6: Enrage
    Level 8: Invulnerability (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Pulverizer
Level 14: Demolish (Rank 2, Below the Belt)
    Level 17: Resurgence (Rank 2)
Level 20: Haymaker (Rank 2, Reckless Strikes)
Level 23: Shockwave (Rank 2, Power Shift)
Level 26: Endorphin Rush (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Attack Toys (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 32: Support Drones (Rank 2)
Level 35: Energy Shield (Rank 2)
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 34/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (1/3)
    Strength: Overpower (2/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

The last power can be w/e ya want.

It's mostly standard Might, but w/ a few Tech powers added to the mix. For single-targets, you can use Demolish to initially put up its debuff, and then alternate between 1x Beatdown and 3x Haymaker for your main rotation. Shockwave and Beatdown can be your main AoE attacks, and Demolish can also be used against lone trash that you don't want to KB w/ Haymaker (all of the non-Haymaker attacks can help build knock immunity for Haymaker too). The pets can be decent in solo or casual content, but I prob wouldn't worry about them too much in high-end stuff, since they can die to AoE easily. Gears mostly for Str, w/ some Rec and Con.
