Qulaar Rifle build

Trying to make this Qulaar rifle power replacer work - here's what I have:

Devices

I haven't really been able to notice much difference in dmg between int and dex PSS so I'm leaning more towards int as I know it's supposed to be better for endgame with its penetration. I'm not sure if tap fire is worth using as I'm getting 3.8-4.2k crits on that first hit but only 2.2-2.6k on the standard maintain ticks atm, is there a best option for this? Any advice for different powers to take/ways to keep up deadly poison etc would be appreciated!

    The issue w/ tap-spamming is that you have to deal w/ activation delays more, as well as a longer activation time (compared to the 0.5sec tick rate), and prob a lower poison rate on the device overall. There's also the extra tick you get in the first second of maintaining a power that you'll prob miss out on if you tap-spam. You're still free to parse it to see if tap-spamming would be better dps, but I'm not sure it would actually end up being an improvement. You can prob drop R1 Burst Shot from the build, if you want to add another power, like Toxic Nanites, in there. I would also get Focused Strikes in Vind if using the Rifle, and prob switch to using Guardian spec over Avenger spec (Preemptive Strike isn't great w/ maintains, since it only works on the first tick, assuming you even keep a blast power).

    Although Curse's adv can refresh poisons here, it is limited to 50ft. If you wanted an easy 100ft poison refresh, for w/e reason, then you could just use taps of Infernal Blast.

    I have a qulaar build. Not enough organic power sets if you ask me. I'm always crying for flexibility and variety.

    In conclusion the tech powers are just to mechanical to pull of the qulaar theme.


    What can we do? We are decades behind in things we should already have.

    This may be a "well duh" question, but Targeting Computer works on Ranged Tech stuff. IS the Qulaar rifle considered Ranged Tech?​​

    Yea, afaik, these sort of devices adopt the powerset flagging of the power that they replace.

    I was curious about this as well, and fooled around on pts a bit. With that said, I think it looks like normal ranged dps stuff.

    I recently learned from crafta in zone chat that infernal blast can refresh poisons, and the banishment device can apply the -resist debuff for toxic. With this info, I ended up dropping will o the wisp for infernal blast, and put the saved 2 adv points into second travel power. Just thought this tip might be worth sharing for QTR builds.
