For over a year now my buddy and I have taken to leveling and gearing paired/themed characters together. We started with a Rocky and Bullwinkle homage, then some Soviets, then a couple of Celts, currently gearing some Black characters. So, time to ponder the next theme. Since I was thinking about this robotic SW Cowboy/Snake Gulch theme (https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/championsonline/#/discussion/1216277/techs-mechs-cowboy-hw-and-electricity) he decided to go with a Native American robot/cyborg. Trying for a mix of bullets and bows (will have munitions and archery utility mods if energy in final from is ok). Tentative name is W.A.R.P.A.T.H. (Weaponized and Armored Robotic Protocol for Analysis, Tracking and Hunting) : =). Went with MSA since no other EU really seems useful. My friend tends to value survivability over max DPS, so he'll be in Distinguished Gear. Guns are mostly for single target and bow for AoE. Fiery Embrace or Toxic Nanites?

You may want to consider getting the Overpower adv on the Ult, if you want to help debuff in group content. I may also consider getting Desperate Shot instead of Holdout Shot, since it has 100ft range (or maybe just get Mini Mines w/ adv to activate the heal whenever you want). You could also get Battle of Wits in Int PSS if you want a bit more stun duration from Sonic Arrow (and from the ult, if not getting Overpower), but that's up to you. Fiery Embrace vs. Toxic Nanites is also just up to you, since they serve completely different functions for the build.

All good points. I went with Holdout Shot for more of a mix of guns and arrows, so I'll leave that call to my friend. Maybe he'll like the mines as more of a robotic aspect. He doesn't really like to do group content since he only plays a few hours on the weekend and doesn't like waiting around for groups to form, but I will definitely mention Overpower as an option. Same with Battle of Wits. I'm trying to get him to appreciate aspects of CC more. I'll have to see if he can learn to love Roots and add Achilles' Heel to Storm of Arrows. He tends to like pewpew since the gratification is more instantaneous ;)

Okay, that all makes sense. Maybe he'll learn to appreciate at least the stuns when he can continue to wail on enemies while they can't hit back. I hope he ends up liking the build, regardless.

Heh, the main I reason I put Shot Gun in (instead of Burst Shot or Straight Shot) is because of the innate KB. His current character is a Force build and I am trying to show him how he can use FC to control the field of battle by knocking people around and then picking the survivors off as they straggle back into range. Shot Gun is not the same level of knocking, but it still helps. This build will probably push him to the limits of what he can handle what with a KB, a couple stuns and maybe a root power.

Just a reminder that there's an official Champions supervillain named Warpath, a Native American archer(ess) who's a member of the Warlord's War Machine supervillain team. No acronymic capitalization or abbreviation, though, so it's still distinctive and the CO system may accept it.

I figured that there were heroes/villains with that name, but since I still wanted to use it I went for the acronymic version to be safe.
