My second build. Bigfoot

egamer1egamer1 Posts: 20 Arc User
I wanted to try a Bestial regen based hero that has very good single and aoe dps.

Here what i came up with. I just picked powers right now. I would like to try leveling this build so power placement ideas would be appreciated and i would still like to optimize him for endgame content as much as i can.

Are there any aoe damage heals avaliable? What should i replace with it. Open to lots of ideas.

Bestial has good single-target dps, but its AoE options have pretty poor coverage, unless you're willing to count Venom Breath, or use Lacerating Cyclone (both are ranged attacks that have good reach, but won't deal great AoE dps for a melee build). Frenzy has better AoE coverage than Shred, though it's still a bit limited in being a melee cone AoE; it can prob be sufficient w/ good positioning, though.

Anyways, for Bestial builds you want the Shredded debuff, which either Shred or Barbed Chain can apply easily w/ their advs. You'll also want either Massacre or Thrash as your main single-target attack (DE can work too, though it's technically a Infernal SN power, and you would want Debilitating Poison instead of Shredded w/ DE, since it's Toxic dmg). Massacre is Bestial's strongest single-target attack, but it's also a bit more costly and it doesn't innately bleed or poison (it does knock, so it's actually easier w/ Enrage as the toggle/form). Thrash isn't quite as strong as Massacre, but it can still be pretty formidable, and has self-healing built in (it also doesn't innately bleed or poison, but you can work around that too).

Regen will make the build a good bit sturdier, but using a defensive passive and the Hybrid role is going to lower your base dps considerably vs. a normal dps build and a DPS role. Pestilence (which you have, but only at R1) is a more proper dps passive for Bestial, if that's your focus. I may also pass on Feral Rage, since it puts both AOs and ADs on cd. Speaking of ADs, I'd prob also pass on R3 of Resurgence, since it's more likely to be over-heal.

As a reference, here's an example Bestial dps build using Thrash:

Level 18: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
Level 21: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Bestial Fury
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
Level 6: Aspect of the Bestial
    Level 8: Pestilence (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 11: Supernatural Power
Level 14: Frenzy (Rank 2, Fear Sense)
Level 17: Endorphin Rush (Rank 2, Rank 3)

    Level 29: Antagonize (Rank 2)
Level 32: Pounce (Nailed to the Ground)
    Level 35: Aggressor (Rank 2)
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 32/36

    Travel Powers
Level 6: Wild Speed (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 35: Flight

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Overpower (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
Brawler: The Glory of Battle (1/3)
    Brawler: Penetrating Strikes (2/2)
    Brawler: Ruthless (2/2)
    Brawler: Finishing Blow (2/3)
    Brawler: Flanking (3/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

The last 1-3 powers can be w/e ya want.

Puts up Bleeds and Shredded w/ Shred, and then just channels Thrash 1-2 times while tapping Eviscerate to refresh bleeds and Shredded in between (and to proc AotB, since Thrash doesn't innately do that). Ideally you put up 5x Bleed w/ Shred, and then keep it rolling while using Thrash and taps of Evis, but in shorter fights you can settle for just putting up Shredded and a bleed first. Supernatural Power works well w/ Thrash, since it's maintain can more rapidly proc the EU's energy threshold; you'll still want some End and Rec to make energy use a bit smoother w/ the EU, though. Frenzy can be your main AoE attack here, regardless. Gears mostly for Str, w/ some Con and End/Rec.

For a bit higher dps, you can also trade Con SS for Dex SS (and change talents accordingly), which will give you a bit more crit%, but will lower your maxHP a bit (prob want to get R3 on the block then too, and put some maxHP mods in gear).

Flow was nice and left you 4 points and a slot at the end. That would allow you to go the dual passive route and take Regeneration for times when you want to be a bit more sturdy.

Perseus, Captain Arcane, Tectonic Knight, Pankration, Siberiad, Sekhmet, Black Seraph, Clockwork

Ive never done dual passive before. What would that look like?

Can i benefit from both Pestilence and Regeneration since they are both passives?

You just add R3 Regen back into one of the open power slots, and swap to it and the Hybrid role when you want to be sturdier (but w/ quite less base dps, ofc). You can make the switch easier in-game by customizing different setups in the 'Builds' tab on the character sheet.

Point-Blank Area of Effect; it's an AoE power that centers around you.
