Patriot Event
For the next 2 weeks the Patriot Event will be running! Enemies in game can drop event Fireworks, costumes, action figures and Patriot Tokens!
  • Added Heater Shield and Star Tiara costumes to the event vendor.
  • Added Squall Archetype to the event store.
  • Added Kneepads and Overalls costumes as potential drops from enemies.
  • Added a new daily mission where Liberty Guard will have you go to Millennium City, Canada or the Desert and set off fireworks at specific locations.
  • Added a new loot icon for Patriot Event drops from enemies.

Circus Malvanum
  • The event vendor will stick around for 1 week and can be found in the Recognition area.

Costume Transformations
  • Costume Transformations will now display in your powers window and can be individually colored. You must have power tinting (either through the Premium Pack or Lifetime) to use this feature.
  • When unlocking a new Costume Transformation, players will have to relog or change zones for the costume transform to appear in their powers window and tailor.

UI
  • In the Options menu under the Basic tab, you can now choose to sort characters by last logged in or by date created.
  • Devices can now be colored individually in the Build window. Archetypes now have access to a Device window in the character sheet.
  • Added Mod and Mission item storage. These are new tabs in your main inventory window.
  • Mod storage can store most modifications and has a limit of 40 slots. Mods picked up will automatically get sorted into that bag, if the bag is full it will go into your regular inventory.
  • Mission storage will store Mission items. This does not include mission specific devices.
  • Mission items are now restricted to this new inventory. If you have a mission item in a different bag, you can right click it to move it to the new Mission Item storage or drag the item onto the tab to drop it in there.
  • Increased main inventory and Multi-Dimensional Bag to 40 slots.
  • Added map icons for Arcana Library, Mystic Foundry, Mutations Lab, Inventions Workshop, MCPD Special Armory, Fighting Dojo, Sherrera's Bar and Carl's Gym.
  • If you have an invalid build, your powers button on the minimap will be red and give you a warning about your build when clicked.
  • Updated the invalid powers warning message from trainers to state that players won't be able to view or use any of their costume transformations until their build is valid.

Note: With the change to Costume Transformations, players MUST have a valid build in order to view and use any Costume Transformation. If your build is invalid, any Costume Transformation will not be available until you reset your powers.

Builds can become invalid when changes are made to powers that affects their tiers, power progressions on archetypes are changed, or when advantage costs are changed, as well as other reasons.

If your build is invalid, you are automatically granted a free respec. Simply go to the powerhouse, click remove powers, and use the reset powers button.

Mods
  • Rank 9 mods are now Gold quality.
  • Slightly increased the values of the Vital Spirit and Soviet Guard's Resolution mods at Rank 8 and 9.
  • Threat Reduction mods now grant a small amount to your Primary Super Stat when dealing damage with the mod's damage type.
  • Rank 7, 8 and 9 mods can no longer be sold to vendors.

Alerts - Save the Earth!
  • Added cutscenes.
  • Made it so the mission display states to defeat the Nemesis during the final part. Other completion routes are still doable.
  • Added an overhead icon to the Nemesis to make it easier to find them.
  • Defeating the Nemesis now automatically completes the alert.

Missions
  • The Battlefront: Shadowfall open mission (Eidolon) is being temporarily disabled due to an issue that recently came up. It will return at a later date.

Gear
Distinguished Gear
  • Added additional CC Resistance to Distinguished Armor of Agility
  • Added additional Defense to Distinguished Armor of Freedom
  • Added additional Defense to Distinguished Gloves of Offense
  • Increased Superstat set bonus by 5.
  • Increased Defense set bonus.

Mercenary Gear
  • Mercenary Gear acquired from Lockboxes has been renamed to Remarkable. These are different from ones acquired from the Questionite store.
New Set Bonus:
  • 2: +10% Resources
  • 3: +10% Questionite

Heroic Gear
New Set Bonus:
  • 2: +500 Health
  • 3: +5 All Stats

These are all awesome updates, especially giving us the option to rearrange our characters by date created. Thankyou so much for that!!

A lot of really good updates here. Thank you for adding the option to sort characters by creation date back in! My distinguished tank will have distinguishably more defense now! I hope Eido enjoys his vacation and comes back feeling refreshed.

Awesome update! Things I'm excited about - distinguished gear improvements, costume transformation coloring, device coloring, mod and mission item storage (so good to have this), increased inventory size, threat reduction mods perhaps(?) being more useful, STE Cutscenes (hopefully will increase PUG success rate) , Heroic and Mercenary set bonuses as I still have 40s with those too. Really happy with the direction CO is going lately!

Great job! Thank you for so many great changes. Special thanks for listening to the user base and giving us character sort options. I was a vocal critic of the change to sort by last logged in, and now I'll be a vocal supporter (and user) of the option to revert to date created.

Hit 'b' generally. Or go to your character window and select the builds tab.

Now that's QoL right there. Not just the sorting option, but now we get way less of them inventory full messages in general. Good work.

Idea: if you really want players to respec out of a broken build, you could make the invalid-build prompt include an option to teleport directly to powerhouse - if there's issues of super-broken builds that could be exploited for example (i.e. build with -1 advantage points to spend) this would allow these builds to be stripped of exploitative powers while not stranding them in a distant zone with no travel or combat abilities.

A little info on the Modifications Tab, it may look empty/unfillable but you can add mods into the tab by dragging them. This really saves me a lot of much needed inv space!

Interesting, you are trying to make the unpopular mods more appealing for use, not a bad idea
Secondary effects like this certainly help
Added Mod and Mission item storage. These are new tabs in your main inventory window.

I'm really loving these QoL changes.

I'm glad that the feedback regarding the Character Select menu were taken and that we now have the option to choose between Most Recently Played and In Order of Creation. It's nice to know you guys are listening.

Especially since these inventory changes are MUCH needed after having to deal with the increasingly growing mods that just seem to accumulate over time in said inventory, and well as some of those missions that just fill up your inventory with mission items. Looking at you, Snake Gulch and Fallen Sun Forest.

I like that some attention are being put into the Threat Reduction mods, I recently wanted to try them out for once given that I've been attracting too much mob attention as a Power Armor DPS. (Yes, I know, weird but it's fun!) Now I have another reason to try them out to see how well they work!

Very nice update overall! Thank you and keep up the great work!

AWESOME news on the updates... I'm not complaining about the NEW character menu options, but wouldn't it have been easier to just unlock the option to let the player move their characters around on the pages how they'd like, some may want to keep all their leveling toons together as well as maybe those built for PVE, PVP, RP, ETC. ... i understand that you cant satisfy EVERYONE most times, but that way there would be less frustration, because then they can just rearrange their characters the way they saw fit... STILL better than the ever changing way it was, made remembering what toon had what stuff a little harder when the character menu kept changing... EAGER to see whats to come, hopefully a new AT, maybe a new map(s), (still hopeful on re-opening the SPACE STATION & making a set of "off world" missions/contacts...).

Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving us the option to sort characters. This would have been an incredible update if that was the only QoL change. The fact that it's just one of many QoL changes makes it even better.

Good update, but I have noticed a bug.

If you have multiple inventory bags open, and click the "Sort" button on the main bag, it'll sort one of the side bags.

I'm very happy with today's changes, being able to sort characters by the date they were created is fantastic, essentially giving us a 40 slot bag for all those darn mods is even better! I do realize that these quality of life improvements only solve problems that Cryptic sort of created but the fact that they're finally addressing these issues earns a big THANK YOU from me.

Um... to 'unlock' something it has to have already existed in the code and just not have been turned on for some reason. Allowing move at will would require a new sort key (fairly easy) and a new UI to allow moving stuff (not easy) and they'd still need to have the current control, because 'sort by recently played' is incompatible with any sort of static sort.

You broke my inventory bag. I signed in and had a panic attack. It eats my screenspace and neither I nor any of my friends figure how to make it SMALLER. Less clutter is better. Please make main bag SHRINKABLE, the normal bag you could drag and wiggle and it was fine.
This new bag has me drinking tequila out of the bottle as I type this to be able to stay coherant. I like the rest of the bag changes. They weren't needed but it's a nice detail, if it could be made SMALLER. I just want it to be made SMALLER. SMALLER.

Also I really appreciate the ability to leave my characters in their create order. That made me wig out so bad every time I Logged in. Smacking that "OFF" button was the second thing I did after I signed in.
Now, please, just make the bag shrinkable.

    -Pari

Anyone having sound issues since the patch? I haven't played in a couple of months but upon logging in today I found that I had no sound at all. My sound works fine for everything else, it is just Champions. Just curious if anyone else is having issues and if it is possibly patch related.

    Edit:

Forgot to mention... absolutely love the patch notes. Some very good changes going into effect. Now if I could just get my sound working...

They did do this as a response to feedback. The thing is, they did it as a response to feedback almost immediately when it was still on PTS. Everything since then didn't have any impact, it just made people look silly.

Feedback doesn't just have to be done on PTS and it being immediate doesn't necessarily invalidate any feedback on that came later and was further discussed on in the forums. To say "everything since then" is "silly" and had no impact is just arbitary and undermines people who have given sincere feedback on the forums. Both early feedback on PTS and the follow up on the forums could have both been collectively considered for the UI sorting option to be implemented.

I know the actual narrative being suggested here is that people who made their negative feedback known on the forums are all just a bunch of whiny complainers. I'm just saying that's flat out false.

There is a huge difference between releasing something that would cause a giant trash fire, despite the initial testing in the PTS and the following update, and holding it off until they added it as an option, which was done with most of the other QoL update. You griefing on everyone that dislike the update didn't really help.

It helped as much as the people complaining*. We know now that this option was always coming, no matter what you, I or anyone else said.

    * - I'm letting you get away with characterizing it as griefing because it no longer matters.

Not really. All it does is just pissing other players off while you build up your post count. The update wasn't well received with all the response in the PTS and the initial update, regardless of whether an option is up or not in the future. Again, this is the kind of stuff they could just hold off and release it as an option with the rest of the QoL update. Griefing players that were already dissatisfied with the update isn't going to help your case.

You know, for a costume that is categorized as "Common", Kneepads and Overalls are pretty darn RARE!
