End-Based lightning DPS

I'm thinking about switching a character over to the lightning set, and I was wondering... Is just going full end a decent dps option? By "full end" I mean end primary and stacking up the end toggle. I remember that end spec that gives more damage at full energy got buffed, but it seems like the wardicator loop fix might have, tangentially, nerfed end primary a bit.

Does end PSS suck as much as I think for a dps? Or can it work?

Its hard to stay at >90% energy w/ a higher cost power like LArc or LStorm, yet those are Elec's best dps attacks overall. End is just not made to be an optimal dps stat, but you can still potentially do decent dps when focusing on it w/ Power Source (End PSS does have Hardened and Readiness, which are pretty nice when End stacking at least).

Testing in the PTS, I can still get Outburst to be active much of the time when using LArc_LStorm + Ball Lit, but only w/ lots of End (550+) and some time to build up energy (and even then, the 90-100% energy margin is pretty thin).

Cause you won't need it. Power Source while stacking endurance is a freakin' fusion reactor when it comes to energy.

It utilizes lightning sigils and sparkstorm, meaning to get the most out of it you'll want to be in melee range. However, it's easy as hell to stay at max energy, and you can solo QWZ dailies by blocking.​​

I have converted back to END PSS post the recent change and I'm happy with the results. (over 800 max energy)

Thanks, a couple of good build options. I was thinking of a long-ranged blaster type.

Con secondary and hardened hey? That's a chunky dps-er.

If you want to play at long-range, then you prob want to take Gigabolt as the AoE. It could sub for LStorm in my build, for ex.

LOL I've been thinking about doing a full End character just to use up all these End mods I have lying around!

It does seem like with END PSS, your Crit Chance and Severity are going to be pretty low, though.

Yeah. I guess you know what to prioritize gear-wise though. Just get as much crit as possible.

I have a similar build to the ones posted here.. just curious. Are you guys stacking pure Endruance for the mods?

Yup.

Although I recently did find a way to increase my END value further so I'd probably end up with closer to 900 max energy. I'm currently on 840 max energy w/ Electric Form.

So I could push it higher if I wanted to.

It's by no means necessary and I'm sure if I prioritized crit more, I'd probably have a bit more fun, but I do enjoy the stupid values you get from using energy items.

Hmm.. even with just Rank 6 END mods in my primary gear, I have more than enough energy. Plus the other bonuses from the END tree. Stacking END seems to help a lot... though I'm curious how you're getting your endurance so high.

Still, I can even swap between Hybrid/DPS/Tank modes with this build and have energy to spare.

I wouldn't say "pretty low", they're just not gonna be as high as Ego primary. The 15% base damage buff makes up for it though. Base damage is strong. Just gotta make sure you keep your energy up - some End lightning builds have an easier time with that than others.​​

some builds are good at crits, some do base DPS.
