How many pets can you have active?

As it says, how many pets can you have active? I'm guessing one, but I could be wrong. I was thinking of buying multiple pets for my main character, but only if I can have them all active at once.

Any powers that have pets. So...just have to count them, there are like 10 or so powers that have them.

Devices you can have one sidekick (there is a disclaimer stating “you can only have one out” but there are other devices you can have out with them like the Dino device

Some powers let you summon 2 or 3 pets at a time.

I have seen characters with a dozen pets, and you could push twenty pets with devices, though many would be temporary.
