So cause Confront mods, a tank doesn't really crit a lot, so is all that +Severity from PSS really worth it to a toon that is only gonna tank? No Dex form.
You don't "need" any confront mods. But if the question is how to maximize threat, no 2 mods of equivalent rank are better than than 2 confront mods in primary offense.
If you run a STR-based form + 2x Confronts, depending on how much STR you have, the Overpower spec is a good option to consider.
If you really want to add more crit, cosmic gear is a pretty good choice too. Crit mods have quite a strong DR per rank, but threat mods scale very well at higher ranks. So it's best to get the threat mods to r9 and use the lower rank crit mod in the secondary gear.
It's not that I want to get more crit( the answer to the question "how get more crit?" is fairly obvious ). The question is, if I'm not doing that - double confronts in primary, slicer secondary, no dex SS, at that point does the +crit spec have any real value anymore? It seems like it wouldn't, unless there's something I'm missing. Do people just put points in this because there's nothing better, or just habit from it being standard so long? Even without any Str slotted, at that point is seems like either Overpower or filling out Swole/Aggression might make more sense.
Like Vixy said, the choice between the specs is mostly down to your str and con setup. None is a bit more difficult to compare. It depends on how important you think damage is, compared to health or ranged knock strength, or what ever other spec you use.
Well Kagami isn't going to become a tank so there's no Justice gear involved. Also I didn't mention Justice Gear in my original example. Looks like Vind is still the tipping point tho, thanks for the info.

This wasn't some sort of "challenge". I was giving you information that hadn't been previously submitted, not "changing the rules of the challenge" or anything like that. You added in Justice gear when it wasn't mentioned so I was making sure to mention the actual gear that would be involved. Don't take it personally.
Having low crit chance may affect your dmg which will also affect your threat gen. Honestly, I don't recommend using Overpower unless you're stack STR for like 500+.
Wardicator is a pretty standard spec for Str PSS tho because of the off/def loop. STR/CON/Wardicator can crit somewhat fine too with only 23% crit chance(that's w/ 1 R7 Gambler).

That second set of number was with endgame crit gear AND vind specs, for a total of 20% crit chance. With 9.8% crit chance it would be like this, do note that AoPM will completely throw things off again due to giving you lots of dex. So which is actually better for cosmics is very situational.
My thoughts on the matter: I like having some decent crit sev (70ish, at least) because at the Cosmic fights I'm almost always getting an AoPM aura to buff my baseline Dex and thereby giving me a bump in +crit. Which means bigger hits more often, which means more threat.
In lesser situations, TA for example, it doesn't really matter as I don't really need uber threat to maintain threat.
I just finished a Kiga. I was pull tank (Harold of Gigundus). I was also only tank on podium. First try, I forgot to swap my 100' pull (bone) with my Spark Shield and Rika, as dps, was pulling aggro from me several times. Spark shield back in on second attempt, I didn't lose aggro.
Harold has full Dist gear, but only r7 Con mods and 1 r9 Confront and 1 r6 Confront and Defender gloves.

2 confronts is overkil, especially if one of them is rank 9. you'll get more out of 1 confront and a gambler gem or a DU core.
A gambler and confront might be better. I heard before that DUC and Confront don't go well together. plus, a little more crit chance wouldn't hurt.
