Making this suggestion for the shield using characters out there. But alongside the shield costume pieces, what about shield weapon skins?
So instead of whatever block you went with, be it the default block or the likes of the Power Armor block, you bring up whatever you chose as the skin. Of course it can't work with all the blocks, like the various elemental ones where you just summon a barrier in front of you.
So while players can have more shield pieces, their characters don't have to have them strapped to their arm all the time like with the current shield pieces.
