Zero Stars or 5 Stars, I don't see any difference.

I went looking for a wiki and the only found this;

"Hero Points (also known as Stars) affect your characters stats. A single star means that your hero is a sad panda. They won't fight as well, and it'll be hard to survive difficult engagements. Everything above two stars makes your character stronger than usual and allows you to survive especially difficult encounters!"

Stars or Hero Points don't effect any of my stats. I have visually looked and no stats are changed when I have 5 stars or zero stars. To draw from my experience; When I play "Guild Wars" (the original game), there is a max death penalty of -60% and a max moral boost to +10%. This visually can be seen in game. For example; if my character has a +10% boost and my max health is 100, it is now 110 health and my max energy is 20 it is now 22. The death penalty also affects my character heath and energy. If my character has -60% my health would be 40 and my energy down to 8. Pretty simple to comprehend?

However I fail to notice ANY changes even when doing Grabs or fighting bosses. Can someone here explain the star system in a logical method as I have explained the "Guild Wars" death penalty score??

Thanks.

If you hover over the starts you'll see the bonuses that you get. It's a pretty big boost that doesn't actually show up on the character sheet. 15% I think is the max. Which is 5 stars.

Correct, it is a 15% damage and healing bonus. You won't see that on your Character sheet stats.

Ok thanks players, no stars means no healing or damage bonus. I will take a look next time I play. I was just online playing and leveled up my characters. I am going to watch Netflix and maybe log back in later tonight, if not I will do it tomorrow.

Edit and update: I fixed that poorly worded wiki article, it now reads better, also added some visuals. Thanks again.

The healing bonus only affects healing powers--so, if you don't have any, there is nothing to improve.

The damage bonus is nice, but the higher level, and the better gear you get, the less you will notice each bonus.

Star loss is not actually much of a difference, except in people's imagination.

The bonus from the starts gets diminished along with your damage and healing bonus, so if your character already has high damage bonus then you'll get a very small damage boost from your stars. If you already have high healing bonus, likewise. I don't remember the exact numbers from when i tested it, but it was teeny tiny, so don't worry about stars.

@roughbearmattach and @championshewolf Yep. I was beginning to get that too. The only reason you feel it in "Guild Wars" is because you level cap at 20 and your max hit points (with a tanked out warrior) is roughly around 980. Average level 20's in that game run about 550 hit points. I like running with this game and "Guild Wars" the most because you are not limited on play style so much.

In game, I play Doctor DNA a doctor fighting against cancer, but one day he realized that crime is a cancer too! Funny thing is, I actually am a doctor in a cancer treatment clinic in Windsor, Canada. At night across the Detroit River, I can see the real Renaissance Center all lit up with the neon. So Champions has its appeal to me.

I was playing both Star Trek and Neverwinter until they pulled the rug out from under me. They now demand Windows + Direct X 11. I cannot blame them for my choice of OS, but it is my choice, not theirs. I look at it like this, if they want their money, they know where to find me. Hoping they leave Champions well enough alone.

I really loved the original Guild Wars, though I wish there was more customization for character appearance.

Oh so true, but you got to love having monks running about with axes! :D I have my main who is an axe wielding warrior with his heroes like Dunkoro brandishing an axe as well. Last time I was online they too have low population numbers like Champions. I play the sequel but this isn't the place to talk about "other" MMOs either. ;)

I just don't care for the trope of "all members of class X have basic Y appearance".
I do understand that it makes character types identifiable in PvP, but that was my least favorite part of the game.

That one reason why I don't play all those other mmos o3o
