Question about Conflagration and FlashFire Pyre Patches.

Does the Pyre patch that Conflagration's Burning Rain leaves behind stacks with FlashFire Pyre patch? And if you had to choose would you sacrifice R3 Conflagration for Burning Rain & to have a free power slot (because burning rain is Flashfire with no cost)?

    I believe it does stack.

I say stuff and I say things, sometimes together but only when I'm feeling adventurous.

Well after playing around with Burning Rain a little I realized that it's better to just go for R3, because the simple fact is that mobs die way too fast the only time I saw the benefits of Burning Rain was on the bosses. Conflagration has too long of a maintain time and by the time it's done everything (or the main target) are already dead. So R3 Conflagration and FlashFire it is.

Afaik, the patches do stack, so Burning Rain could be a dps increase theoretically. However, I'd prob go w/ R3 just cause some fights may not allow you to finish full channels of Conflag that often.

Nope, I always choose R3 over Burning Rain for all the reasons stated above. Plus, things like to move around, so really, the only way you'll get the most out of the fire patch is if: 1) you can maintain conflag for the full duration without anything dying, and 2) things are willing to actually stay in the fire patch. In contrast, to get the most out of R3, you just have to hit things with it.

If you're using Burning Rain for the fire patch + thermal reverb, I find that generally, a full maintain of Conflag will put clinging flames on at least 1 target anyway.
(Hopefully) Useful CO Resources: HeroCreator (character planner), Cosmic Timers/Alert Checklist, Blood Moon Map, Anniversary Cat Map, and more (eventually, anyway).

As far as I know, burn patches from the same character do not stack. Always go Conflag R3 + Flashfire R3 and watch things melt before your firey might.

Someone on the Forum told me that you don't need Flashfire R3. The thing your looking for in Flashfire is the clinging Flames and a bit of extra damage. The way I have my future build set up I wouldn't be able to fit Flashfire R3 into it without sacrificing Hydra R3 for it.

Well, if you go Flashfire R3, you can often just throw that and block till everything melts, if you wanted to. Flashfire does quite a bit of damage and will kill off henchies and other low level mobs without you even needing to notice, so you can focus on bosses.

I've never used Hydra on my Fire and it doesn't look interesting at all.
