  • I have had the majority of mine disabled almost since my arrival on the forum. Since I adjusted it pre-migration, I have not been hit by that kind of massive deluge. :D I should only be getting notifications if someone PM's me, directly mentions me with "@", or writes on my wall.
  • OK, so was everything you were being notified about that you found questionable linked to publicly-viewable posts?
  • Afraid I'm clueless as to what linyive is seeing. My notifications page says, "You do not have any notifications yet," and the only time I've ever seen a Notification is when someone writes @ my name.
  • I'm afraid I don't have a clue what's happening, then. I haven't had a notification for a while. Do your notifications link to publicly viewable posts on the forum? Or do they link to (for example) something in the Moderator's Lounge, or to old PM's that are supposed to have been deleted in the PM privacy breach?…
  • What button are you clicking on that shows you these notifications?
  • If you use an ad blocker (I know AdBlock Plus for Firefox does this), you have the option to block single images by right clicking and setting up a filter, which I have done to about three signatures. That is another way to deal with a particular image should you not want to block all sigs, or if there is something you…
  • I don't mind some GIFs, or think that all graphics larger than the previous forum are a problem--especially given increased screen resolutions over when vBulletin was first implemented. That said, I've seen a few signatures that I would bet could provoke seizures in people and I don't think that's cool at all.
  • I don't think this post is supposed to be located in the STO section without being in one of the subforums: http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/discussion/1191230/renegade-officer-reassignment
  • Actually, I believe they did warn about it (22 June--Trailturtle)--and even before that, I proposed it (19 June--because I had a fairly good idea how this happened and suspected the messages would not be salvageable :( ). The problem is that right now there's nothing to quickly distinguish CM/Mod posts from the general…
  • Yeah, I'm seeing signatures go in and out too. Wondering if sometimes the server is serving pages in an incomplete manner?
  • Totally understood--solely wanted to ensure we didn't have more software vulnerabilities.
  • OK...I dunno if this is an actual ban, or if there are still CSS vulnerabilities that could allow a user to make their own profile page look like this: http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/profile/118373/aloishammer Used to be people could really mess with their own profile pages before the migration.
  • I noticed a couple new game forums just popped up, so far with 0 posts. Could a migration in progress at this moment be affecting bandwidth to that extent?
  • I'm not sure he meant that no adjustments would ever be made, to judge from his earlier post in this thread--only that it would not be completely removed or made client-side-only.
  • I never understood the reasoning behind that one.
  • Thanks, I'd appreciate it, especially given that sometimes my stories don't have completely squeaky-clean language. Things like s*cks, h*ll, d*mn, or cr*p, aren't too severe to be seen on a forum with teenagers, IMO. Even "b*stard," which I have seen used legitimately in a character description. (See what I did there? ;) )…
  • Regarding the Rules of Conduct, I forget where it was said, but it was said that there'd be a heads up for all forums that will be affected by changes in rules before they go into effect. I know that during my chats with people from PWI, that they were very surprised at the extent of the rules we have on the STO side. Our…
  • Hmmm...maybe there would be a way to get admins' and mods' names lit up with a special color? I don't know what the forum's code actually allows though, so I am just thinking out loud...
  • Have we had any official word on redress for this situation?
  • Here is the New Forum Survival Tips thread as requested: http://perfectworld.vanillaforums.com/discussion/8368/new-forum-survival-tips
  • Thanks, do you mind if I copy this into my New Forum Survival Tips thread?
  • N I would say a group of four users should get together and test this theory after @pwlaughingtrendy addresses it, to make sure it can't happen anymore. Basically, have Person 1 and 2 PM each other, then Person 3 and 4 PM each other with the exact same thread title.
