  • Yeah, I guess I didn't communicate clearly. Disabling cores didn't work (at least through task manager options) for me, but disabling CPB mode did. Someone in my guild told me that CPB mode is related to overclocking, I never intentionally overclocked. Even after loading the default bios settings, it left CPB mode enabled.…
  • UPDATE: tl;dr - Disabling CPB mode in my bios under the CPU options fixed my problems even after extended playing. Long version: I was fed up, spending the past week looking at heat (hwmonitor), in-game settings (even going to low settings), uninstalling and reinstalling video and audio drivers to no effect. After watching…

  • I'm having this same problem. I stopped playing before module 6 dropped, came back, and am having real problems playing due to something dropping my fps to the single digits in combat and creating audio distortion as well. Did anyone find a solution for this? And what about our gameprefs.pref saying our cache size is 0?…
  • For people with AMD FX CPUs having this problem, does disabling 4 cores help? Here's the thread with instructions from awhile back: http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums#/discussion/comment/4200710 This helped me again for some reason, but I'd prefer not to have to disable cores to play. I no longer have any stuttering or…
  • I'm having problems with win 7 and have a similar setup AMD FX-8350, but with 7870. I bet this is an issue with our CPUs where there's a solution that works fine for something on intel machines but has to be adjusted for AMD FX-8xxx CPUs. That actually happened before when the Warlock module launched. They switched the UI…
  • Well I got a response, but unfortunately none of their suggestions worked. If a dev or a QA person sees this and you get a chance, please look into it. It consistently distorts, stutters, and perfomance spikes when my cpu rises to 30-35% even after verifying, trying safe mode, and deleting game Gameprefs.Pref and using the…
  • Yes, the level cap is definately about pushing out soft caps, but I wonder how much rebalancing pve in general at the end game and/or other character systems. Will companions get more levels and/or will they get a new, even more expensive quality tier? Will the AD refinement system be rebalanced? Will cap on zen prices go…
  • For future modules, will we see more open world type areas? I really liked that some were added with IWD. I'd definitely like to see them go even bigger for exploring and finding HE's/quests, but not linear like a lot of the pre-IWD zone design.
  • I'm not saying there aren't other factors, but I'm not sure how you can say for sure there is or was no market manipulation to reset the price.
  • While the supply *may* be dwindling, I think there's gotta be some market manipulation for the prices to increase this much and this quickly. I think its people either taking advantage of the increase demand or waiting for mod5 when the demand will be even greater.
  • Feedback: SoulBinder I don't really get this paragon path. I was looking at trying to build something around this path and I don't see the benefit. The sparks are too transitory and the path has the same problem as hellbringer damage wise, lots of build up when most groups don't leave you time to do so. I don't see why I…
  • Heroic encounters are open to anyone and with the scoring system--let alone it be opaque--is a problem. Well at least at the beginning of new content. Maybe it gets better over time, but that's just my opinion.
  • Thanks! And thank you to the devs as well for getting this fixed. :) Edit: Wow. It's a huge improvement. Thanks. Just tested a little bit in the dread ring. I probably won't understand it, but what was it about our processors that were causing the stuttering?
  • This companion looks HAMSTER. The bracers/gloves make me think it's a melee companion rather than caster? Striker or Defender?
  • It's not my method; someone else was kind enough to post their solution(s) for the crash in the preview forum. And another person mentioned it worked for the subsequent stuttering. But I'm glad it's working, for my sake as well. :)
  • There was a crash bug on preview that got fixed at the last minute for our processors. But now it stutters/jitters really bad. A temporary fix--which also worked with the crash bug--is to disable 4 of our cores. I do it through task manager. Start the launcher (but don't click play). Open task manager, click show processes…
  • Unrelated to linux, but related to graphics. Any idea why the eight core fix for AMD processors resulted in jittery looking framerates for some of us? I disable 4 cores and it runs smoothly. It's weird.
  • It appears there may still be an issue, or at least some issue. It's dropping frames or something. My experience is similar to the aaablacklady9's above. I'm getting something similar. It's very jittery until I disable cores. It's probably playable with the frame drops, but it's so unpleasant and distracting that I'll…
  • Oh wow, I was expecting the fix today, but I was just able to load a character just now without disabling cores. ^_^
  • Some good news. Thanks! :)
  • Yeah, it seems we have to disable cores to be able to get past the character select screen on preview. When we load a character it crashes. Please check out this thread: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?693651-preview-client-crash/ It's a little disconcerting that it wasn't on the team's radar given that…
  • So what does this mean for crafted/drop weapons? Will new crafted/drop weapons supplant artifact weapons in future campaigns? Is it just going to be new artifact replacement? Just making artifact weapons refinement seems like a wasted opportunity to differentiate them from artifacts and normal weapons.
  • Yeah, that's similar to what I was thinking of how it would play out. Magic is limited by difficulty or availability, guns are relatively easy to use. Mages (and the aristocracy) put limits on gun ownership to preserve their power.
  • Interesting. Thanks for the extended explanations.
  • Yeah, but are they going to be arrested for just having a "wand of fireballs"? Or scrolls, etc? Magic is ridiculously more dangerous than basic gunpowder, but seems relatively unregulated.
  • An adventurer flinging fireballs, "A-OK", put a musket in their hands.. "You're under arrest!" Rationalizations for the lack of technology in fantasy worlds leads to more weird contradictions than not. Thanks for the lore lesson though. :)
  • What just struck me about the interview was the way it made it seem like horse armor did really well, despite people's complaints. Maybe that was in terms of profit, or just the fact it continues to sell. I can't find the interview now, so thanks for the correction. :)
  • I may be not remembering correctly, but the interesting thing about horse armor is it was the best selling add on for oblivion. It may have even generated the most revenue too. And at least for a while, the monocle generated the most revenue total compared to the other items. There's just a lot of people out there with a…
