From the HotN founders deal: If Neverwinter is still in open beta, when and how do I get my five-day head start when it finally launches. Wordsmith all you want, Neverwinter has launched
drago, I understand what you're saying. The concept of class balance in MMOs has a long history. Heck, we played other games with damage meters to gauge a player's effectiveness. I was one of those players. This isn't those MMOs. Balance has no meaning in solo play. In group play, the other 4 players should welcome high…
Just using your statement to make a point. I'm having a difficult time understanding the use of "unbalanced". In solo play, who cares what damage you are doing. In party play, why wouldn't the other 4 players want the striker to do high single target damage. The term appears to apply only to PvP where opponents would care.…
I have not received an email. I have posted this fact in every thread on this issue. I submitted a customer service ticket (reference: 130320-000629, dated 3/20/13). I pretty much have abandoned hope. But, being the eternal optimist, I will post again. Edit: e-mail box is now checked
If a rogue can stay in stealth all the time, then the class is performing as intended for PvE. Converting D&D 4e into a PvP resolution system is the problem. All this talk about OP centers around PvP.
As I posted earlier, I'm very interested on how PvP plays into a game based on D&D 4e rules. Will the game gravitate towards team play or PVP? I don't know. One way of balancing PVP and PVE is to have a damage modifier, based on class, applied to characters in the PVP areas. The modifier would go away once the character…
Clerics are not strikers. A striker (rogue) will do more damage then a cleric. If topping damage meters (as in WOW) is important to you then a cleric is a poor choice.
Hmmmm . . . Table top D&D does not focus on PvP. It will be interesting to see how the game includes PvP. The abilities of the 4 main classes compliment each other. Each one would be at a disadvantage in 1 on 1 PvP. It would be a rock, paper, scissor, lizard, Spock resolution system.
Rogues are strikers. They are intended to have higher dps. Put aside your previous mmo experiences and internalize that 4e DND classes have specific roles - Defender, Striker, Leader, and Controller. The consistent dps forum debates demonstrate that this concept is not understood and/or accepted. Sadly, the forum debates…
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.aspx?x=dnd/drdd/20110330 It was a little tricky finding this on the internet. I finally used google and searched on /smile
I applied. Got to the screen that states a conformation email will be sent. At this point. I get an error message. I tried to apply again but get a message that the email address is already used. I'm stuck in limbo. Without an opportunity to confirm my email address, the application cannot move forward. Any advice?
That was the reason for my post on the rogue being the only striker. But, since you brought up a good point, lets take it through the other classes: Nerf clerics, they heal better than any other class Nerf fighters, they mitigate damage better than any other class Nerf mages, they have better crowd control that other…
Rogue is a striker. Cleric is a leader. Mage is a controller. Fighter is a defender. Compairing dps is an improper way to evaluate the 4 classes. I could just as easily post that a rogue is underpowered at healing while the cleric is overpowered. Each class has a role. Compairing dps, healing, damage mitigation, and crowd…
Your guild sounds interesting. While reading some of your links, I found this: Main Time Zone: [USA]. I'm not sure what "USA" time zone means. To simplify things, when you post a guild activity, what time zone do you use for the start time? In other words, if you say an activity starts at 7:00 pm, is that EST, CST, MST, or…
