In PVE I'm using Lurker's and Whirlwind. I only use Whirlwind during trash-clearing when the mobs are bunched up, like during cleric phase in Tia. The power bonus can get big when you hit a ton of mobs.
Quoted for truth. Based on what some of you have said we're looking at a 13%-18% damage nerf. As I said before, not exactly something I would have asked for, but with CW and GWF getting hit harder by the nerf we should at least break even, if not gain a little ground on the other DPS classes in PVE. I still think GWF will…
Okay lol. This may be a totally pointless, unsubstantiated, panic-inciting assumption on my part...but they're going to announce a change to the Lostmauth set this afternoon, and I kind of doubt it's going to be a buff.
I don't know about lurker's causing BF to not knock you out of stealth, that hasn't happened to me. I do stealth>blade flurry>lurker's>stealth(refilled from invisible infiltrator)>lots of blade flurries. The swings from stealth don't activate the cooldown, so you get two extra attacks in. You're getting bonuses from…
I like that Tenacity is restricted to PVP gear because it creates a progression and grind that happens strictly within PVP. You start out in PVP blues (or the 65-70 PVP leveling gear) with minimal Tenacity, and you have to fight (and win) your way through stages of acquiring, replacing, infusing, etc. your gear. It doesn't…
If gear, build optimization and skill are all equal, a GWF will do more damage than a TR every time. SWs can be DPS beasts too, if they're done right, and there are some HRs out there who can crush in PVE (few and far between, but it happens).
This happened to me in edemo earlier today. I went to the character select screen and selected my character again, which fixed it. I nearly died, but I got my stealth back. Totally worth it.
For PVE see this thread, it has several approaches. Milkyguy's post is where I got a lot of my rotation. For AOE/trash-clearing I'm using Dazing Strike, Smoke Bomb, and either Wicked Reminder or Blade Flurry. For single target I'm using Wicked Reminder, Lashing Blade and either ITC or Smoke Bomb. For passives I'm using…
I find the increased movement speed in PVE to be very helpful for positioning in fights, especially those in which I need to cover a lot of ground (e.g., demo). I'm playing a TR though: I have to be in position to be effective. And in PVP I want all the speed I can get.
ITC is huge, especially in boss fights. For single-target DPS scenarios the ability to stand in there and keep up DF bleeds can make a huge difference. I swap out DS for WR on bosses. DS does a lot of damage, and can trigger SoD, but the passive DPS from Smoke Bomb is huge, even in single-target situations. SB really does…
I think it's a good idea to ease up a bit, given that Tiamat is so much harder to complete now, but keep in mind that those last two boons represent an entire module. It should take no more or less time than, say, Sharandar. One solution would be to make Linu's purchasable with ToD campaign currency so you could grind them…
Here's my take: * I don't care about the attack power for the Armored Giant Strider. * I do care about the movement stat bonus on the Striders and the mount speed bonus for the AGS. * I would gladly spend IRL money on an upgrade token to make my main's mount Orange, so long as it included the movement stat bonus and 140%…
PVE MI Exec, I use the DC artifact. I could see the Wheel being useful, but it would require an organized party to be fully leveraged. I like the stats more on the Wheel, just haven't leveled one up yet.
No, PWE needs to provide service to their paying customers. If they can't handle Steam-related billbacks then they shouldn't put their game on Steam. I've never encountered this with other game companies that allow you to purchase virtual currency through Steam.
I play MI Executioner and the playstyle has changed considerably. I used to use at-wills (Duelist's Flurry) from stealth to proc feats that gave bonus crit in stealth and to proc the SC set bonus. Now, I use stealth more as a way to enhance my big damage encounters by taking advantage of the 100% crit from stealth. This…
I think Blade Flurry has potential for PVE Executioners. I've long felt like the TR needed an AOE at-will, similar to Reaping Strike or Weapon Master's Strike for the GWF, and this is as close as we're probably ever going to get. My usual multi-target DPS rotation is Stealth>Blitz>Smoke Bomb. I follow it up with Duelist's…
Shadow of Demise isn't being applied to all of the targets when you use a multi-target power. All my tests were against a group of three training dummies. Blitz, Blade Flurry, and Smoke Bomb applied SoD to one dummy, always the one on the right. Whirlwind of Blades and Path of the Blade didn't apply SoD to any dummy.
Companions An augment companion (such as an Ioun Stone) won't increase your gear score but it will give you a ton of stats, which will help you be much more effective, especially at that GS level. Plus, you don't want to be running around with a summoned companion in epic dungeons: they draw aggro and die all the time. A…
