Piercing damage was one of the stupidest things this game has ever introduced. It does nothing but create imbalance, and an impossibility to actually balance.
I am sorry it seemed that way. I merely meant its the only actual avoidance / dodge that we have as GWFs. So really the only other option is to take the hit of SE and die or be close to death. Sorry if it came across as rude or anything. If punishing Charge worked like that, I am pretty sure it would be on a lot of GWF…
My guess is since they want guild info that the new pvp stuff will have to do with Guild based pvp. Finally give premades a place to romp around and have fun without ruining more casual players experience.
Just because slotting ML lowers your burst by replacing another encounter, thus making you say it isn't viable for pvp, doesn't mean it doesn't avoid SE dmg. Please don't follow some false logic to prove your point. This is your logic as I read it. ---Skill not being viable in pvp , but negating damage on SE, means that…
It is obvious that people don't read. Why bother, am i right? Clonkyo I have said multiple times I don't play instigator tree. I have never said I am better than anyone, or using Mighty leap is better than using something else. Simply stated some information on the use of ML or PC. Pantomime doesn't translate as farce. It…
You mighty leap away from them putting them out of range. Thought that was self explanatory. Most TR's dont Shift cancel SE. Because they aren't used to anyone dodging it or attempting to ever, much less with Mighty Leap. That's why it usually works. But if they do cancel, then yea they will probably be able to get you…
Holy Personal Attack Batman. How is any of what I said upsetting anyone in that way. Sorry man. If you want to gear down at some point and try it out we can do that. It is finals week coming up for me though so after that I would like to 1v1 for fun sure. If you gear down to my level, because I do not have BiS uber gear at…
At equal gear, i have no problem with any class really. Except for paladins, but that just because paladins. Both ML and PC allow you instant access to someones back, allowing you to proc Flanking maneuvers for free stuns. WMS second attack is always considered a back hit, so a crit on WMS = stun on your enemy, without…
Completely agree. There is a point where it all is decided by gear and enchants. But it isn't pay to win. Because saying that will close the thread. So, yea, not pay to win, but can't get in the lead with out paying.
It isn't a rotation. You don't mindlessly hit your skills back to back. Icy Rays can't be dodged, it can only be nullified with sprint bursts or other CC immunity granting skills. There is a tiny amount of frames in the beginning of Mighty leap that don't grant the immunity. Tying up experienced players on a node, is what…
Completely agree that ITC is the main cause of everyones Gripe with TR. It is way too advantageous. Between ITC and proper timing of DF and dodges, a good TR will show how broken ITC allows them to be. If you take that piece out of the puzzle, they quickly become much more balanced. But obviously we cant get rid of a…
Id say the biggest thing to keep in mind from that info shared there. Is that no matter what class you are. become competent and confident in close quarters combat. There will be times where as someone who prefers ranged combat for safety, must stay on a node and contest / capture it. Being able to effectively fight…
Mighty leap is a 12ft burst radius. It is actually a 40ft jump. Which instantly gets you out of range of SE. Mighty Leap allows you to avoid that 10k big hit or CC from range, because you can jump whenever the hell you need to. You don't need to be close to jump, come on man. Mighty Leap allows you to last longer than 5…
Why would you try to land IBS on something that isn't stunned or rooted? That is just stupid. It's why everyone uses FLS or Flourish or Take Down AND IBS. If you are going MightyLeap -> IBS, then you are doing it far beyond wrong. While Mighty Leap may be a joke of a power to most, there is a correct way to use it. And…
If I miss Take down its like a 2 sec cool down. Which is like nothing, just as a TR who dodge cancels SE would have. PC is just over 6 second cooldown (recharge time) for me. So essentially every 6 seconds a have a 30ft instant gap closer that has a stun. PC -> Takedown is a 32' (give or take, PC is 25' and take down is…
third encounter is take down on a 5.5 second cool down. Ill keep my ability to juke everyone and stun them every 5 seconds instead of an unreliable easy to avoid combo that everyone knows is coming. Thanks for the great input on the topic though. Make sure to keep trying the same things against what is giving you…
I have a TR CW and GWF. As those are the only classes that I find fun to play (waiting on Druid or Bard). I don't ever slot SE on my TR because my paragon path doesn't have it. I usually run with mighty leap slotted on my GWF as well as Punishing Charge, because they are very useful if used correctly. You dont slot mighty…
It is possible to dodge SE. Good luck working out the timing for it though. GWF Mighty Leap at right time, others just dodge at right time. I have done it a handful of times. The window of timing is small, possibly even a bug? But Since Mod 1, I have dodged SE's randomly. Feel free to test with friends and see if you can…
It really depends on the xx% of Tenacity, or the Flat value of tenacity the character would be require to have. If they made it high enough , you could only acquire enough through Battlescarred blues at least, or the actual PVP gear. The only problem is, it would create a difficult situation for newer PvPers as they would…
There is good advice all around. And it should definitely be helpful to newer players. The biggest point I think that has been overlooked in this discussion (please forgive me if it hasn't been), is the fact of when to act in these different ways. It all comes down to what the current score is. The buddy system is great to…
I have always been a huge fan of Punishing Charge. It allows you to pas directly through people(mobs and players). Greatly useful against melee-ers in PvP as you can juke around a lot making them waste their encounters on where you were. But it defintely needs an upgrade. It used to be the only encounter with charges, but…
Perma can seem OP, especially if the TR has the really good gear to back it up. But they are far from OP. They are forced into a specific play style, one which almost everyone knows of what they are doing, and how they try to move while stealthed. I am really in hopes that they add more tricks to our class in Mod 5. Giving…
Gotta love how a new character with a low gear score is called a scrub. I'd rather be a scrub than an arrogant prick. Just do PvP dailys, skirmish dailys, all dailys and get campaign boons. I understand why you wouldn't want to do any of that because it is pretty far from what I would consider to be fun. Make sure to get…
Maybe Mod 5 will bring with it an actual match making system. Taking in to account Wins/Losses/Gear Score to place you in to fights. The real reason why this still hasn't happened is because all the people with the really high GS will have to wait a long time for a match. And making these people wait is no good, because…
If you haven't made the character yet I would suggest looking at Pandoras Perma Stealth Whisper Knife build. There are other guides on these forums for Master Infiltrators as well. But right now it is a safe bet to go with a perma stealth build of any kind Master Infiltrator Or Whisper Knife, especially if you are new to…
Oh I agree 100%. Mod 3 GWF was just a bad joke to PVP. It is easy to make the fotm CW break under pressure and fall apart ending in their death. GWF just had to land roar or FLS followed by another CC and an IBS and it was lights out. All the while they were able to take all sorts of damage with out even caring. Mod 3 GWFs…
I was wondering the same thing about those CW's. But I am confident that Pandora has the skill to dodge roll out of a Steal Time and adjust and react. Icy Terrain is easy to avoid as WK. Was surprised neither of them tried anything, not even laying down a simple Storm Pillar. (Why CW's still don't use this for stealth…
