Ah. Thanks for that. I see it now. It's an astonishingly small amount of damage isn't it :) I'm getting a median damage of 20, max of 30, which sums up to about the square root of *** all. I wonder if that's a bug in itself? Oh well, looks like he's going to be retired from active service permanently. Thanks for your help.
I was in a similar position to you a little while ago - hadn't played for a year or two and a whole lot of stuff had changed. My lovely BiS High Vizier kit was now fit only for salvage, equipment was now also artifacts and even my Ioun Stone was looking a bit old fashioned. I still haven't ground through all the new…
It does seem to be quite a lot different :) I can't see me playing it for as long as I did originally - the grind will get to me and I think I'd rather take a rest once it starts to do so, then come back again after a few months. So I'm working my way through all the 'new' content, salvaging most of my old gear (I'm…
Thanks for the advice. I looking forward to getting stuck in again :) I have got the impression that viable end game builds are a bit less varied than they were. I used to run with Shard, Sudden Storm and Steal Time, with CoI on Mastery and I could have sworn that both Shard and Steal Time had a higher target cap than 5 -…
I don't count myself as 'very inexperienced' and I do use OF on occasion, but I use AS a whole lot more. Dragging a bunch of mobs that are trying to pound me to pulp after the first rotation out of pulping range is a really, really lovely thing. The fact that it takes a couple of seconds to gather them up is a positive…
kolevra really has the best solution. Fixing shard evaporation and fixing ArP on Ice Knife and Icy Rays wouldn't affect PvE at all, but it would make PvP a whole lot better for us.
Um, lots of people gripe about the CWs' dominance in PvE. There are dozens of threads about it and they make a valid point. It's also valid to complain that CWs are crippled in PvP. If Cryptic want people to play PvP then it has to be accessible to PvE specced players in some sense, not just some bizarre build that may…
Bronzewood only comes in normal, greater and perfect I think? Normals are on the AH for 60k and for a flat 8% damage boost that seems pretty good to me. The most common options are probably vorpals, plague fire and terror but they're all vastly more expensive and for PvP the debuff that PF and terror give to the rest of…
Any party can get to phase 4 by simply being organised - making sure you focus on Valindra's hand when she grabs someone and making sure every has a segment of the room allocated for destroying caskets (typically divided into quarters with a floating team member to help out if needed). You ought to be able to get to phase…
The barkshield shards that drop from MoH are bound, so you can't sell em! I've never had an artefact drop from a skirmish and I've run a lot of them. It doesn't mean they don't drop, but I prefer to farm the Dread Ring daily dungeons because they're quicker and drop other goodies from the end chests too.
I always start with shard on tab, but if it's getting wiped by enemy HRs or CWs there's no point persisting with it and it's back to the old set up of Icy Rays on tab and RoE. It doesn't have the burst it used to have, so I have to focus CWs and HRs rather than meatballing the DCs and fighters on point, but it's better…
I don't know what you mean by that. Sometimes it takes an unseemly number of pres wards to go from a 5 to a 6 even. then I'll get a couple of 7s to 8s without using one. With the sort of numbers involved (10% chance at worse), the RNG doesn't really have a chance to kick you hard enough to make coalescent wards remotely…
Why are you using coalescent wards for refining normal enchants? It's way cheaper to just burn through a load of preservation wards even for going from 9s to 10s.
I like the look of it too! Let us know how it works out for you hopebringer. If I'm in a group with HV wizards it's always nice to have an alternative.
I tried I MoC for quite a long time before giving up on it. Against weak or dumb opponents it was a very satisfying daily - picking up that lump of a GWF and sending him flying. Against anyone with any skill, it was always evaded. The AoE is so small that even idiots occasionally avoided it just by accident. Maybe I was…
I'd say the stat boosting pets are less worthwhile than the special effects ones... I like the look of the Fire Archon too and the Wild Hunt Rider seems like a no brainer. Might be worth looking at a Blink Dog if you have Nightmare Wizardry, especially if you can upgrade it to Purple. I'm aiming for a Cantankerous Mage and…
Armour Pen for CW secondary effects such as Storm Spell or Elven Ferocity seems to apply if the power that triggered benefits from ArP. If this is the case for enchants effects too you ought to see it work with Chill Strike, but not Icy Rays for example.
You're right of course. There's no sense in just sitting around and if one is better than another you may as well use the best, even if the difference isn't major. Ultimately, the at will you use is determined by the feats you have. MM for Chaos Magic, and CC for Thaum.
I'd pick almost the exact opposite of you crazymikee :D Interesting... Def because I'm never to going enchant or pick equipment for it and 250 makes a big difference below the soft cap. Crit because deflect is pointless, HP ofc and the fourth doesn't really matter, but when you have loads of lifesteal the tiny healing buff…
I used to PvP with a Champions Mage set and that was fine with my existing jewellery. The new sets have quite a different set of stats on them from PvE gear and seem to force you to fully spec for PvP with PvP jewellery too. I use HV for GG, but the powers you tend to slot for 5 man don't trigger the debuffs enough to make…
Thanks for the responses so far. In the FPS games I play, mercy limits in team games tend to be the norm* and it often becomes a point of pride for a weaker team not be beaten by the mercy limit - hitting the time limit and losing by mercy limit-1 would be considered a success if you were up against a real set of pros.…
I agree up to a point. There are games which are still massively one sided and in which the other team is happy to sit under your campfire and pound everyone to a pulp, unwilling to do 1 on 1s. If you're going to penalise spawn sitters then I think you need to add an option for the team that's getting face rolled to…
Against a GWF with the same gear score as me, I really struggle if he's any good at all. If I know he has a gap closer like Threatening Rush I'll try to get a tabbed shard off immediately, centred on myself. If I get lucky and time it right it usually hits them on the head as they rush from 80' away to my face in under a…
If you mean single target boss fights then it doesn't really matter which you use since you're only using your at wills while your encounters are on cooldown, unless you're a Renegade which Chaos Magic then MM is the only choice. Otherwise you may as well use Ray of Frost and at least put a stack or two of chill on the…
I've just bought a Grim Thaum set having switched from a Champion to Oppressor. I really noticed the lack of HP on the Oppressor set but I've worked hard to get my ArP up to around 2500 and now, lo and behold I have over 3500 :DDD Clearly there needs to be some switching of enchants and probably a change of rings etc...
