Widescreen Display Issues (16:9 1920x1080)

Widescreen Display Issues

Two major issues I've had, since I was forced to switch to Widescreen (16:9-1920x1080). (Well, one major, one minor.)

The big one, is that I can no longer make my party members display vertically in my HUD:

widescreen_party_tiles_thumb.png

This is especially egregious at high levels, when player status icons start stacking horizontally so far that they actually overlap. (Also bit annoying how, under the default HUD config, the first party member displays fine, then the subsequent party members tile out horizontally beneath him.)

Second bug is just annoying - I'd have to animate it to get a proper image of it, but when viewing dungeon/skirmish party statistics (via "x" or the "contest" button), the scores keep repeatedly scrolling off to the left.

Given that this is pretty much the most common format for modern monitors, wondering if it's been addressed, or if there's some other fix? No amount of re-arranging the hud or resizing the panel seems to help.

There are numerous bugs with UI and graphic scaling, make sure you set each of them to 1.0.
If they are already at 1.0, change them slightly, save, reset them back to 1.0 and save again.
If you are lucky that may fix it.

Thanks for the tip - no luck so far though.

...Not that my blind eyes could handle 1.0 scaling at my monitor's native resolution - even if it is 27". :(

Try running your res at 1900x1200 instead of 1900x1080. That should fix it for ya.

I run mine at that res in full windowed mode and have no issues. I always had issues in the past trying to run at 1080
Take the extra time to do the job right and it will never come back to bite you in the A**

Non-native resolution - do not want... But alas, it may come to that.

I'm running full-screen Windowed. Which is nice, as I need to be able to flip out to check on servers easily. Didn't have any issues until I had to change monitors and switched to 16:9. Can't hardly get a monitor in any other format these days though (save maybe ultra-wide, which I can only assume is even worse).

I have the same problem with the party hud but it only just appeared with last week's patch. Have always run my monitor at native resolution 1920 x 1080 since NWO beta and this problem only recently appeared.
Second bug is just annoying - I'd have to animate it to get a proper image of it, but when viewing dungeon/skirmish party statistics (via "x" or the "contest" button), the scores keep repeatedly scrolling off to the left.
Have experienced this since mod 2 or 3. It is annoying.

Grrrr, tried switching up resolutions and aspects but no change to the horizontal team hud.
It seems very odd to me that graphics don't take into account the more common 16:9 and 16:10 aspects. This needs to be fixed.

Its not a fix but I feel like tearing my hair out less, change the hud so that team "block" is just above the chat box. Bad for clerics but less annoying for other classes.

Guess I'll bump, not that I'm expecting a fix, given that this has been going on since Beta, apparently (just didn't notice it back then, as I wasn't running at 1080).

Turning the GUI Scaling to 1.0, and restarting, fixes this - but then you have to deal with text and icons being very small (except the chat window text, which thankfully can be scaled through the Chat options.)

I can't imagine what those new Quad HD HAMSTER are going through. (Not that they don't deserve to suffer.)

It seems it'd be a simple fix, vs. some of the bugs, and the much more epic balance issues they are (or need to get to) fixing. So I suppose I'll just keep bumping this once a week until something happens.

Again: GUI scaling + Widescreen = Fail, as imaged in top post. Please fix.

    Confirmed bug still exists.

    To reproduce:

1.) Switch to: 1920x1080 (likely any widescreen situation)

2.) Options->Interface->[General] and move "Interface Scale" slider to 1.3 (anything >1 should work, maybe <1 too, not tested).

3.) Create/join a party with 3 or more total members.

Will continue to bump each week, each time confirmed, until fixed.

    Bug confirmed to still exist.

I'm about ready to abandon this game though - no point in leveling knowing the game's just going to be unplayable come 70 - someone may need to keep bumping this for me.

Would love an answer for this, I have been looking for this bug and was hoping to see a fix, but no.

This is not a bug. This is a feature to prevent the party member portraits from overlapping other items on the screen.

To fix it, reduce the UI scale.

Game Menu -> Options -> Interface -> General -> Interface Scale

Move the slider to the left and click Apply. Adjust until the party members show vertically.

    Feature ? Added when ?
I have been playing nearly 2 years and this just now has started to happen.
    UI ?
So my words have to be smaller for the party list to go up and down so they don't enter the center of my screen and end up cover foes and allies in fights?

    Sigh.

It fixed the party list for sure but now all my font is to small to read, in my quest journal etc...
Of course I raised my chat font but that is little of the total font on screen.
    Some feature !
What exactly is this feature anyway ? I have never had an issue with my party list overlapping anything.

    LOL

I don't wanna use 1.0 Interface Scale, everything is so small. ı can't read anything.
