I come in search of clarity. I have recently had several matches where some people just take 0 damage. Sometimes, they seem to ignore everyone as I throw everything I have at them only to be rewarded with 0 after 0 after 0 after 0 damage indicators. This has happened on a paladin, DC, and CW from what I can tell so far. I don't think it is a hack, because sometimes in the string of 0's I'll get in a critical hit for something like 43 damage.
But what is the root cause of essentially this complete damage negation? It happened last night after the patch so if they tried to fix it I think it is still there. Is this just a temporary shield some classes can put on, or are some classes, once they get high enough item level and BiS, just don't take damage from anyone unless they are also 5K item level and BiS?

Negation enchant.
Did they look like LED lights... glowing white?
CW probably had shield on Tab.

One boon takes up to 2k from each hit. Combined with high DR, shield up etc. you will see 0 dmg procs.
Chars: CW, DC, GF, GWF, HR and TR.

It was not the CW nor negation enchant, it is the DC. Empowered astral shield. Paladins also have powers that generate shield that absorbs damage and you see the 0s.

That is when you just start "babysitting" the node. I have gone 1v1 with a DC. I would knock him down to 1/2 health nd he would heal. I would hit him with CB and he would move away. I walked away.

no it also happens without empowered AS and its a boon pretty sure, reported lots of times long threads about it
The protection OP's shielding strike negates all damage under a certain threshold. If they can build up the stacks on that, you'll need to lay in heavier hits to penetrate the shield.

I had made a new GWF and have been playing him in the PvP league. If it is the shielding strikes mitigation threshold I wonder if maybe this threshold needs to be modified a bit for PvP as all I see when fighting OP is a bunch of goose eggs and I have nothing heavier to hit with than what I have available. Now this has been an ongoing trend from level 19 to the 30's so far and it may of course change later but many times I have seen our entire group be unable to damage an OP, while they can dispatch us in turn. The situations I am referring to are isolated OP with no DC or other party members about.
Empowered Astral shield absorbs 3% of the DC's maximum hp per stack of Empowered. Stacks up to 3. It looks like a yellow circle on the ground. You push them out of the shield.
Warding Flare absorbs up to 500% of DC's weapon damage (up to 8K) and consumes all stacks of Empowered to last up to 14 seconds. The circle is not visible, but about as large as Thorn Ward without the red danger zone.

No.
No. That boon has an ICD.
Sorry, my bad. I mixed up cold sholder and Thayian bastion.
