Ward drops/reward box wards

Excuse me if there has already been a post on this subject. I searched every way I could think of and came up empty every time.
If you know of another thread, could you link it?

Has anyone else gotten the sneaking suspicion that wards are being pushed into the buy only category?

I've invested in 12 character slots, and was shamelessly running all my alts through invocations religiously(pun intended) every day to pickup a celestial reward box weekly for each toon. This resulted in a minimum of a handful of green wards, a blue or two every other week.
Since the revision to invoke system and its reward boxes, I've only seen few green. Mind you, while the rate of green wards found in craft resource boxes seems to have improved, I seem to only be able to procure blue by buying them with AD or Zen. (I also used to get these rarely running the Dread Ring/Sharandar dailies But I find it nearly impossible to complete any of them now. I'm sure that come as a COMPLETE shock to all of you forum readers.)

Is this just my personal run of bad luck? Or is everyone seeing this same trend?

RNGesus works in mysterious ways. I've gotten MORE coalescent wards in the time since Mod 6 dropped than I did in the several weeks before. Still seems consistent with about a 3-5% drop rate though.

You were getting a coalescent ward every week or two? I find that hard to believe. I've gotten exactly two coal wards from invoking in over two years of play. I only have four toons, but I would invoke them all regularly.

You must have pissed off RNGesus or something. That run is rotten luck is all. I have gotten easily triple that from my 3 toons through invoking.

Apparently, I'm now karmically balancing my earlier run of good luck with a run of poor luck that extends to nearly everything dropped in game. Good thing I'm not a (gold)farmer, I'm afraid I wouldn't get my bowl of rice.

If there's anything I do NOT need in this game it's wards. It's the only thing RNGesus allows me to get on a regular basis. Currently my bank has 58 pres wards and 15 coal wards, none of which are bought.
i get pres wards every so often but ive never gotten a coal ward in 8 months of playing. wow you guys are so lucky.

I doubt it. They probably have multiple toons. In the old system (not the old old system where you got a lot more coal wards) they were 3% drop rate, that's 33 weeks average to get a coal ward plus or minus 2rng. That's just under 8 months and well someone has to be one of the unluckier ones to not be under that. If they have 15 characters, that'll be 15 coal wards within that time. It's not uncommon for people with leadership farms so that they can actually get by without paying easier. Still it gives an unrealistic impression that the ward rates is enough to not buy any. I've bought hundreds of pres wards and you need 34 coals to have a pair of trans enchantments from scratch. You're not going to get that from a single character's worth of invoking.

That is pretty bad luck unless you missed a lot of invoking.

Blue wards have always been rare since the ninja nerf that made them BoP a long time ago, and one can only think they become even more rare since Mod 6 because there are more items you can get from the same box.

Frankly, I won't expect to get many blue wards. I usually just buy them from the Zen store but it is OK since you can still play to get AD and exchange it to Zen although obviously it is harder to get AD now.

They are making players to have to buy stuff from the Zen Store more often. That's quite obvious. Don't keep your hope high they will change it but personally I only buy wards when they are on sale. Patience, young grasshopper! Just be patient on your invocation or wait for the sale...

I've been invoking since beta and one thing I've noticed if you want coal wards is to save the boxes and open them later. Opening them as I got them almost always resulted in HAMSTER drops, even with this, however, you aren't guaranteed anything.

At the moment, i stack at least 10 coffers from my 8 characters, and then open them up at once.
Today, 11 coffers, and i got 2 coalescent wards from them.

I didn't get a single coalescent ward before mod 6, but i used to open them right away... now i wait, and open them later - looks like that is working better for me.
