PSA: In game PHISHING emails are out there

Check out this phishing email I got in my in game email box:


Greetings,

Your account has been logged on by 3 different IP adresses in the last week. To ensure your accounts saftey from potential fraud we at CRYPTIC ask if you would reply to this message with the email adress you registered this account with and its passwork. This will ensure that all of your account assets will be safe as well as any personal information.

We will get back to you as soon as we fix the problem and have secured your account from any future problems. Thank you for your cooperation -GM Richard

Hopefully none of you are fooled by this email. Other than the misspellings which are dead give aways, no one should ask you your password via email.

    Precisely. A Cryptic employee will NEVER ask you for your password. If you happen to get one of these emails, please promptly report it as spam--do NOT follow the instructions of the email.

    Well you know it's not legit since they didn't ask for your bank details to confirm your identity too

    Remember folks, Cryptic will never, ever, ever, ever ask you for your username and password for any reason in any of their communications.

    And never, ever, ever enter your login credentials into anything other than the official PWE website and the game.

    you are WRONG about this. official response from support has asked me about my password. and after many mails back and forth were i was refusing to give it to them they asked for other more "normal" security questions.

    I have no idea who you were talking to but Cryptic and PWE support will not ask you to disclose password information.

    You probably should change your password because that was not official support if they asked for access to your account.

    if somebody falls for this, he deserves everything he got, and shouldnt have any children just to be safe :D

    though i know of ppl who disclosed work email password when somebody sent an email asking for password to "free some extra space for emails" :D

    I'm pretty sure I wouldn't give my password to anyone who asked for my "passwork"...

    Just sayin' (an attempt at humor) ~ :)
