Also, I don't think any company would be wise to explain to non-shareholders their processes for anything. You pay for finished products, not for technical details. While I imagine anything they are doing isn't "cutting edge", what do you expect? For Devs to come on and show you lines of code and what they are looking at? Would I understand that even? I wouldn't.
Sorry if it sounds snide, but sometimes we just have to take the company at it's word when they list issues that are being fixed like in the linked thread. If a fair number of days goes by with no movement on the issues and no word as to updates/stalls then we get the pitchforks.
People forget this game has only been out a few months. It's like everyone these days expects everything, right now! Patience.
Karma, I agree. The consumers pay for finished products. As it is, when we get a finished product(PC has alot of fixes console needs, they also have the ability to make their own dungeons) then I expect alot of people will stop whining. By that I mean, this game is 2 years old on PC, the Xbox is behind in mods(ok no biggie) features (being able to construct your own dungeon would add to the end game so much) and bug fixes (the PC side can sort through the chat system by muting certain channels. Very small to fix I imagine, but its problems like these that are so small yet so significant that the Xbox players are unhappy).
Yes, we pay for finished products. This 2 year old game, which is new to Xbox, if compared to the PC, no, its not even closed to a finished product. Sorry to be the guy that brings up ESO, but a valid point, it comes out of the gate for Xbox, with EVERYTHING the PC has, including content, and fixes. So no, NW for me is not a finished product, you say people forget this game has been out for a few months. But your info is wrong. The game is 2 years old, stop acting like its new.
You're right in the sense that I let my bias towards the issues in this game that I have problems with colour my view of how "old" this game is. I'm looking at some of the stability and performance issues, in which the code required (since my understanding is it needed to be redone to an extent because of the XB interface - I'm no programmer, could be misinformed here) is only a few months old.
System flaws, like the dungeon kick issue or the loot issues, prices, gameplay mechanics, environment issues - you're absolutely right that all of that is much older. Regarding "finished product", it's a turn of phrase. It's actually been quite a while since I picked up a game I felt was a finished product
