Why buy a bag why not character slots?

Ok can someone please pull apart my theory.

It cost 1000 zen for a greater bag but only 800 zen for 2 character slots, why wouldn't you just go the character slot route and just keep emailing the stuff you want to keep to the other characters instead of having the bag space?

I cannot fault your theory or the suggestion that character slots appear to be a better value than greater bags of holding, particularly since greater bags of holding are now bound to character instead of bound to account.

I bought a few of bags of holding (three to be exact) one for my main character, one for my alternate class main character and the third I traded between the other 14 characters on my account as needed since I don't play any of them regularly.

Now I still have the two bags in on my main character and one still in the mail as I haven't decided which of my characters I would like it bound to.

Be careful using PC info on the Xbox forum, they are not the same. Bags are not yet, and may never be, bound here.

So, they raise the price from 500Z to 800Z to get 2 character slots in XBox version.

For OP, it is pain of the back end if you keep on emailing stuff to another toon back and fore.

To start with, you need to find a mailbox which is only available in PE and IWD unless Xbox version is different.
When you are in the dungeon, how are you going to send stuff from one character to another one?
Are you going to walk out of the dungeon and riding back to PE, send the stuff out and then go back to re-play the dungeon?

Second, if your mail box is filled, you need to switch character, do the management, etc.
Your mail box size is fixed for your account regardless how many characters you have in your account.
Of course, .... unless XBox version is different.

I guess my question back to you is what is 200z worth to you and the time it would take to pass equipment back and fourth in game? Eventually the process may get a little old so while you may have saved some money you also could have been able to used this swapping time to collect AD to covert it back to zen.

Personally I think you are correct in your thinking. 1 bag gives you what 24 slots at most? Where as if you create 2 new characters with those 2 slot and lets say you level them to 25 (so you get the 2 extra smaller bags from quests) that already gives you 96 slots for items just on the characters not to mention their banks slots - And instead of mailing use the shared bank slot to transfer items. And who knows you may actually enjoy playing those characters. I bought a bunch of character slots when they were 90% off or whatever it was and now I ended up leveling all 7 classes to 60. Heck best way to know and understand how each class plays in a Dungeon is to play one yourself :D

Character slot is the all around better buy over a single bag in my opinion

Bags are a trap, create new char and start leadership one them.
more space, more ads, more chances to get a coalescent.

Bags is for convenience, for short term storage.
Character slots are for having other characters, building AD, middle and longer term storage.
For me, both are needed. For priority, one should have character slots first.

After you build up enough AD, 1000z will be not as much as you think now.
You may be able to pick up something cheaper from AH later. One should always check price in both Zen store and AH before getting one.

The longer you play the more stuff you will accumulate.

In mod 5, bag was a capital investment because you can sell it for capital gain (since it was not bound to character or account).

Because in the middle of a dungeon when I am trying to loot something and the Inventory is Full error pops up on my screen, it's not convenient and often not possible to return to protector's enclave, pass items to my other characters, and then return to the dungeon to pick up where I left off.

DISCLAIMER: I have never purchased a bag. I rarely run out of inventory space. Just giving a possible reason.

I use the bags for short term convenience and characters as long term storage. As jdnutz above said, character slots were on sale not long ago and I got a few to stash odds and ends on.

More time in dungeons = more ad from item drops = more Zen to buy things.
