Overleveling = Quests Don't Continue in Adventure Zone?

Just a quick question - I checked the net and there doesn't seem to be a definitive answer for this, so I thought I'd ask to see if anyone else had a problem with this.

I had my DC working in Pirates' Skyhold at Level 49-50. I did the quests up to giving "Building Materials" to Tragold or Shortcloak. I gave that one in, met the halfling Shortcloak outside of Skull Fortress, then that was it. I know my next quest SHOULD be to get into "Beneath Skull Fortress" and/or kill 4 Bruiser Lizards. If the Bruiser Lizard elimination quest is class-specific, the Fortress shouldn't be.

Still, nothing comes up. Shortcloak's convos do not include any yellow-quest options, and the trapdoor to Skyhold isn't lit-up/active. Also checked the next camp for the Mutineer camp quests - no dice.

Overleveled? Bugged? Or do DCs not get those quests, and we have to move onto the next areas?

    Had the same thing happen to my Guardian Fighter who was overleveled. Dang double xp weekends.

    Same location/quests? Or totally different? And what did you do?

    From what I noticed, if you're 7 levels over the current quest level, you won't be able to carry on with the quest line. I made the 'mistake' of leveling my HR in pvp when my friends weren't around, and I came upon this problem too. If you wanted to get the achievement for finishing the quest line, then just wait til someone is looking for a group for the dungeon (not through queues), and join them. Once they give you the quest, and you beat it, you'll get the achievement.

    Also, go back to protectors enclave, and speak with Knox, he'll give you the next quest for your level.

    You should b able to just talk to the NPC even though they don't have a ! Over their heads, you just have to find them.

    I get the whole Skirmish/Dungeon overlevelling - The only area I've done all quests + skirmish + dungeon quest is in Neverdeath Graveyard. I've willingly skipped the rest of the Skirmishes/Dungeons, but have been able to do all the standard progression quests so far.

    So I'm SOL for the regular quests in that Adventure Zone with no way to complete them? Or are you suggesting I join a group just for the dungeon and it will automatically complete those quests for me/get me the achievement for the area without completing them?

    Thanks again for the help. It's a peeve of mine leaving things unfinished... so even though I've moved to the next zone 'Chasm', it's still driving me nuts.

    It was the exact same location and quests. Just left it since I already had the achievement for the area with a different character.

    I had this problem in Icespire Peak. It was just harder to progress, but not impossible. I got stuck because of finding the gem in the wall, but once I got over that, I was able to finish the zone (apart from queue for the final dungeon) even though I was 10 levels over the recommended level.

    Same here - already unlocked with someone else...

    It's just the principle of it, I guess... :p

    I have a feeling that if you can go with someone else to pick up the quest and they share it, it will unlock the rest.

    Using a lower level player in the zone to share the quest is the best way to go. I only ran into this once when leveling up all 7 classes to 60 and this worked perfectly. After that the quest line picked back up. Must be that specific area because I haven't had the issue anywhere else. Interesting.

    Not sure what is happening here specifically, but I can at least tell you that you can't over-level quests. I can still pick up any level 5 quest I didn't complete yet despite being level 60. Hope you figure it out! I did have one zone... not sure if it was Skyhold, I think Chasm, where I missed a sort-of side NPC's quest and it caused what I assumed was my main quest line to stop dead. It wasn't until later I discovered that NPC's quest and my quests for that area returned to their normal trajectories.
