Firstly, I know this person through friends, and although I've blocked and reported him numerous times, I'm prone to getting into chat parties with him.
EDIT- PM me for his GT and Ingame name, this HAS to stop, PW doesn't care at all, it's up to us. He has LITERALLY ripped players off for close to 30 million. This is a full time job for him, he makes new characters and changes his name regularly. I've been witness to this, he will keep someone in the party for 15 minutes, lying through his teeth to make a trade. He generally asks for partial trades, gold OR diamonds up front, and then runs off ( some players he's even received drakes / artifacts UP FRONT from, they're usually newer players who don't know better ).
It's SO bad, I see his name in Enclave chat popup CONSTANTLY from players who've been ripped off, I've had the displeasure of having to listen to their horror stories. Microsoft does not seem to care AT ALL, it's INSANITY. He is literally robbing people, day in and day out and it sickens me, I get a surge of adrenaline just thinking of what I might do if I encountered him in real life, my blood boils. For the record, he's never ripped me off, we actually started out as friends. He's inspired a host of other players to do the same, and this is especially problematic. Half of all trade offers are scamsu. How perfect world even allows players like this to thrive is beyond me, many, MANY of the players I come across who've been victimized by this guy have lost real money, quit the game, and are genuinely upset. I have ZERO tolerance for thieves, they're as bad as any criminal in my eyes, it's the equivalent ( at his level ) of essentially, very likely, being comfortable walking into someone's has and robbing them blind. People get themselves serious injured doing these things. I suppose that if this message reaches players and they avoid him as a result of my posting, then I will have done some good. I try to inform the player base in game as I can, but it's too cluttered to have any meaningful impact. Anyway, PW should seriously look into this matter, it's unacceptable to allow this kind of behavior to go unpunished. Thanks for reading.
Name and shame? You're being ridiculous, how else are you supposed to warn other players? I know PW doesn't care at all about this, but players are really being screwed here. It's nice that as a player you don't see the benefit of broadcasting this information, a real stickler for the rules rofl
There's nothing that can be done. Just as nearly every other game ever created and every other business model in the world it's your responsibility to not make stupid decisions with your stuff.
Every person on this planet past 12 years old who's ever played a multiplayer game should know that if you're trading something with someone and they have to take your money and have it in their pocket before you're allowed to see or have the item you're purchasing it's a scam.
I'm not saying it isn't wrong and I hate to see that people have fallen victim to it. But it's not fair to say that the developers should take action for a players own ignorance or stupidity.
Falling for this is exactly the same as giving your bank account number to that Nigerian prince over an email you've never seen before.
The game gives you two chances to decline on every single trade you make. There isn't any excuse for falling for a scam or hoax like this.

As crappy as it is Strict is correct. NW will never do anything about it, because they already have. You have 2 decisions to make before you actually make a trade. No one is forcing anyone to push the button, its on you.
Scammers are HAMSTER and its a shame. I hate to say this but stop being so ignorant, don't trust anyone and you wont get ripped off. Unless you are in the same guild, and know them very well, don't trust them for anything.

your right the only time ive been ripped off was when i didnt know somethings worth. ive never given someone something as partial payment thats stupid. and i only let 1 person hold onto something for me and thats because i trusted them as a guildie. and they gave it back when they couldnt sell it for me.
You can only be 'ripped-off' by another player if you allow them to rip you off.
Only fools and amateurs trade anything directly with other players (unless you actually, really, for-realz know them) or buy anything from a web site other than Perfect Worlds. To those people I say: learn the mantra - 'fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me".
Guys, posting "in before the lock" is considered armchair moderation and/or discussing moderation, so let's please refrain from doing so. As well, naming and shaming is against rule 1.03 of the Rules of Conduct. We have no way to authenticate your accusations, aren't authorized to perform any sort of investigation in any event, and really don't need the drama that such accusations create.
Rule 1.03 - Defaming and Naming & Shaming is Prohibited
. . . . Blacklists and player defamation is not permitted. If you have something to report please submit a ticket. The forums are not the correct place to report bad behavior.

You have to click accept a trade for it to go through. Don't give stuff away to strangers for free.
I'd say these people are only getting ripped off if they don't learn their lesson.
Otherwise they're paying a minimal amount for a valuable life lesson. He's really offering a service.
