Professions Crafting Question?

I have tried to get that one crafting slot completed that states:
“Complete a task and earn the rank 3 result” so many times and still I have not figured out what the H - - L they mean.

I have 10 characters and I have yet to get that one done. I have tried Jewel crafting, weapons, leadership, Alchemy and so on. I have gotten these to what I thought was rank 3, and still cannot get that slot to open.

Does anyone know how and what craft is best/easiest to get his slot opened?

    I have tried that in Leadership and I did get the Complete with 100% slot opened. But not that peskie Rank 3 result?

    Leadership has no task that gives you rank 3 result. You need to use another profession.

    The task usually is a rare task. 4 blue tool cannot do the job.

    The minimum is one purple and 3 blue tools.
    However, the chance of success (with on purple and 3 blue) is pretty low. It is 4%.

    With 4 purple tools, you have 60% of successful rate (note that it is not 100%).
    However, purple tool is very expensive these days.

    If you don't have tons of AD and cannot borrow them from somebody, you can forget about doing that.

    Ok thank you.
    I guess that one will have to wait awhile to finish.
    I have to many toons and not enough keys to get that one done.

    You usually do this on one toon, then send tools to next and so on, opening that slot on every one with time.

    Fastest way is to lvl alchemy to level 3, and use purple crucible and 3 purple philosopher stones on one of the rare tasks for potions. this will give you a 60% chance at a rank 3 result.

    Is that really possible to send th another toon? I have some I could do that to. Is it allowed /How? Via mail?

    First.. if they do do (heh he said do do) toon bound (account bound is fine I guess.. just won't allow you to do third) like they did on bags. they HATE their community.. and this would be the last straw for a lot of people.

    Second.. Yep.. Just got to a mailbox. (not your mail icon) press I to open inventory, click professions, scroll down.. all your peeps are right there.. compose a message. use @username .. BE SURE ITS YOUR NAME.. I've sent close to 1.5mill AD in assets before and mistyped the name.. luckily it said (no user) but still if you mailed to someone that spoofed your name.. well.. ;p Then go to the other toon and check mail at mailbox and take assets.. (you can also do resources as well)

    Third. You can do this with other people.. I've helped people unlock their 100% just by sharing my 4 blues for a night.. when they done they sent them back.. its what makes the community a reason I still play.. being able to help one another.

    Fourth.. It's Friday. and double refinement day.. DRAGONS!

    Yes, you can as others mentioned.

    I maintain a fleet of personnel and tools. For the new char I need to open up slots and leveling, I mail the whole fleet and left over resources to that character.

    wouldn't it be great if you could bank them.. or heck.. zip em up to send.. ;)

    wouldn't it be great if you could bank them.. or heck.. zip em up to send.. ;)

    or.. have one account profession pool of assets and resources.. not that would be great

    Yes, that would be great if they can be parked in the bank because mailing them always makes me ... nervous.

    Yes.

    That being said... I have not yet discovered how to improve my worn crappy tools into less crappy tools. I see the green to blue option but never the white to green option.

    You cannot make white to colour. You need to get colour one from some professional pack or buy it from AH.

    I have never had it happen, but supposedly when you upgrade tools and people from level 2 to level 3 (the white tools/persons), you have a very slight chance to of an upgrade. But yes, there is no direct upgrade path from white to green. In my opinion there should be. if you want to spend DAYS it takes to craft them, you should be able to go all the way to purple. Make it so you can only do this if YOU craft them if you need to.

    ...months rather. Do the math: 4^5 = 1024. That's the number of Lvl 1 toons you'd have to create to get to purple.

    But I'mm completely on your line: It should be possible - maybe introduce some rare ingredient for the first step (wouldn't that be a nice use for all those Marks of Gratitude that now are less useful than they were before???).

    One would think that is the way it SHOULD work. If you can buy them you SHOULD be able to upgrade them from white That is something we my never know.
