Hey all...

I was just curious if anyone thinks the new 5th edit. D&D system would work well implimenting in a game like neverwinter?

4th edition just doesn't/didn't feel like a genuine D&D. I am not stepping on anyones toes and if they liked 4th then by all means, but to those who don't, do you think 5th would work better with this kind of game?

I have been involved in tabletop D&D since the first edition and believe the second edition was the GO TO system and my favorite of all iterations; of course third was okay too. I would probably still be playing DDO, which uses the 3rd edition rules; if it was not for the horrible outdated graphics, the pay to win play, and the extremely corrosive social grouping scene....man O' man when in groups and u fail it is an epic dramatic fail, and let's not forget to mention the broken system itself requiring mandatory and consistent usage of BUFFS to create a balance in quests.

BTW is anyone still hardcoring DDO or has it become a wasteland with only a few elitists remaining?

I played DDO for 7 years, but the community is almost extinguished and moved on. There are a few good people there still, but your right about elitists. I heard theyre revamping a few things, like graphics, and a huge update is coming (Or has maybe?) i stopped a few months ago. Not by choice, my computer took a dump, then i just kind of fell out of it after i got a new one. It wasn't intentional, but deep down inside it wasnt the same game. It lost alot of its luster and gleam. So i just started neverwinter on XB1 this past week. It doesnt seem to be as full as DDO, its certainly lacking a lot of character development, and it seems to be a lot less group oriented. I don't know. Maybe the last 3 guilds ive been in are just dead. I need a social experience but i cant find it so far. None of my xbox friends are interested, and im having a hard time meeting anyone.

The story/mission/leveling zones are really solo-based, and it's balanced for you and a AI companion. The level 60 epics and the dragons are a lot more team based.

My guild has a Xbox party up the whole time, for members of all levels no matter what they are doing. Makes it easy to chill out, offer advice, trade items or ask for help. It works because we're a small local group, but it really makes the experience.
