Feedback: Wonders of Grond Event

Some background. This event started with my DC at 61. I am now 66. All leveling during this event, mostly doing Valiance quests.

I saw exactly 0 of the special dropped items used by this event. I think the event's description claimed that killing a mob within 7 levels of your current level gave a chance. I may be totally unlucky with this, but this drop rate doesn't seem remotely high enough to actually make any of the things this event promised.

You didn't miss much, there was no way to actually get a doohickey built with just drops. For that you really needed to buy their zen store blueprints (big surprise). After all that you get a thing spinning around your head that has near zero usefulness at L70 due to it's broken scaling after L60.

I am a casual player and got quite a few from killing mobs. I sold them all on the AH.

May still be some left there, but probably inflated prices. I think you still "may" have a little time to use them up.

I was curious as to what my whatchamacallet doodad dingdong is good for now that it's over.. cause they're just taking up space in my inv.. the moment I discard them.. will be the moment something is needed with them.

I wonder if anyone got anything from the mechanical bags we got for using the mechanical alters. All I got was 20 shimmerweaves.

When the "event" started, I pulled out the thing from my bank storage and fed the grey gears into it. Again.
It didn't change color and I wasn't surprised, disappointed, or really affected in any way. With the extremely weak rewards offered for Gond, there just isn't any point in caring.
I chalk it up to busy devs with a list of priorities.
They're smart devs too to relegate the festival of Gond to its proper place in the hierarchy of things needed to get accomplished!

I kinda like my doohickey. It lays out another 10k-12k damage (unless it crits), and with the hit is the chance at the 20k Elven Fury hit.

It's almost like having another encounter power.

How does the Doohickey work? You have it in inventory and that's that, or it needs a slot like potions and gets activated by key? Can you aim, or is it like an additional companion?

BTW, the droprate really has been bad: I killed the whole event mobs in the appropiate range, and the final outcome was 2 Gizmos. I would expect the outcome to be at least a Thingamabob and a fair chance to finish a Doohickey instead of clearly absolutely no way of coming even close.

The drop rate sucked. I ended up getting some blueprints via AH, and a few guildmates helped me out.

You slot the doohickey in a potion slot.. aim and fire. 30 second cooldown.

So you have the grind of an artifact to get it, the cooldown of a daily and it does the damage of an encounter? Sounds like a deal :D

You could refine one up as high as you can and set it aside - the event will return again.

...or you can trade it in for 'Creations of Wonder Pack' while the trader is still available in PE. Not sure what the drop rates are for the contents of course
