Booster Pack Advice

I'm going to buy a booster pack for the companion and the account wide bag unlock. It's going to boil down to the best companion (in general).

I have at least 1 of every class so I am looking for the best overall companion for any class...nothing specific for a given class. The 4 choices are Bahamut's Champion Booster Pack, Oathbound Paladin Booster Pack, Scourge Warlock Booster Pack, or Hunter Ranger Booster Pack.

I was thinking the Oathbound because the Dedicated Squire seems like he would be most beneficial to a wide range of characters.

The Scourge pack description makes me think the companion can level to 30 but I think the wording/picture are misleading. It's a blue companion right? Level 25 max without upgrading?

I like the weapon visuals of the Bahamuts pack but the companion seems like the worst of the bunch.

Anyone have experience with these packs that give advice?

Just to let you know that the greater bag of holding for each of the packs is a single unlock only.

In other words, you only get one, not one tor each character.

Ps, all the companions in each of the packs are blue.

Pss, the paladin pack has a slight bonus that i noticed. The paldin shield could also be used by guardian fighters.

    Hope this helps.

Not that I don't believe you but the wording on these is so **** misleading. Bags are a BIG DEAL in this game so they should be clearly marked that it is a single use only. The wording on the item in the attachment is very misleading. Well...I just dropped $35 on Zen thinking it was an account unlock. You saved me from buying the pack tho...thanks for the info.

Unfortunately the only packs with account wide bags are "Heroes of the North"(15 slot bag, $200USD) and the "Dragonborn Legend Pack"(30 slot bag, $75USD).

The Bag in the Bahamaut's Champion Booster pack is a single Greater Bag of Holding claim. However, it is not a bound one and does not bind, so it can be swapped between characters as needed or even sold on the Auction House. The only two packs in the game with Account wide bags, at the time of the post, are the Hero of the North pack and the Dragonborn Legend pack.

The HotN gives an account wide 12-slot bag and the DL gives an account wide 30-slot bag. The HotN pack is not buyable in-game for Zen, only on the site for real money. The Dragonborn Legend pack is however, as it is available for real money on site and for Zen in the Zen Store (7,000 Zen).

The wording really needs to be updated in the zen market. It clearly states that it is an account wide unlock. I know the rest of the packs are single but I thought the PWE folks were getting smart with the 30slot account unlock and maybe they decided to make these others account wide unlocks as well. I can't tell how peeved I would have been had I bought this and only been able to claim one. Bad enough that I already spent the $35 THINKING I was going to buy it.

    I have all these packs.

Eryines from Scourge: excellent as an active bonus gives +5% crit severity right away, 10% on upgrade to purple. She is a good tank too, for a companion, and not hard on the eyes.

Priestess of moonbow bahamutes pack: Nothing really standoutish about this healer. Id rather have angel. looks nice though.

Hawk from hunter ranger: REALLY good for any class that does damage from range. increasing bonus damage the farther away you are

Dedicated squire: again, decent healer. not as good as angel though.

I would like to add the dire wolf from the guardian of the north pack is the best companion in game. 5% chance to interrupt enemies with every attack you make (active bonus). Nothing comes close to being as OP as this.

I have several, and as the Grand Zeb already explained, Acc-wide Bags (one for each char) are available with only 2 packs: The Hero of the North Pack, which also contains a survival-boosting Companion, the Sylph (+50% CC resist) the White Unicorn mount (acc-wide), and the 12-slot bag. The other is the Dragonborn pack with its 30 slot bag for each char. So if bags are your focus, get that.

...it's called Priestess, so it's gotta heal, dunnit, huh???

Not a single heal at all on this "healer", because she isn't a healer. She's listed as a controller. And actually is rather buff/debuffer...

Plain P2W active combat companion - and IMHO quite good and useful as such: She rushes the baddies - after you opened combat! - gets closse to the selected target you attack, and fires off her stage light - which is a comb buff/debuff: Friendlies get +.5% crit chance (!!!) when in that light 20" around the Priestess AND -1% crit chance (!!!) on the reds.

Interval is 6 seconds, duration is 6 second, up to 9 when you upgrade her. This as well ups your and your party members kill speed, as it does increase your survivability - only Reds with >35% crit chance will ever get one against you (unless ye awlde "20" rule still is there somewhere in the code and there's an unquenchable 5% or such crit chance).

To increase her own survivability (does the trick) she will go to stealth every now and then, leaving the reds she had aggroed standing there with nothing to do...

...so, if you want combat support, this is quite a go-to companion IMHO.

Else the pack, however, only contains a single 24-slot BoH and some weapon transmutes, so probably not what you're looking for, OP.

I have all of the packs. The squire from the Paladin pack, is a decent tank and can heal you, which is very useful. The Erinyes of Belial, from the Warlock pack has a great active bonus, but her powers while summoned are just ok, IMO. The Ranger companion's active bonus only applies to at-will attack, and you must be 100' away to get the max bonus - so it's only really useful for characters that attack from far away. The Bahamut pack companion is more of a buffer/debuffer - she applies a deflect buff to you and has a power that confuses enemies to possibly attack their allies - this second power is quite good, but she doesn't use it that often, and since it's under AI control, she doesn't use it at times that would be the most helpful.

So, in my opinion, it's down to the OP and the SW packs. Of the 2, while I think the Erinyes looks cooler, the Squire will probably be the most useful with his 2 healing abilities - his direct heal, and his attack which heals and lowers enemy damage.

The wording in the pack description is very misleading regarding the greater bag of holding. It REALLY needs to be more explicit about the bag being one per account. I got the pack partly for the bag myself, not realizing this was the case. The description should breakdown which items are claimable by all characters and which are one per account.
