Tiamat's Orb of Majesty

Dumb question for the day:

Why is Tiamat's Orb of Majesty so expensive?

I have one from the only and only fully "funded" Tiamat run that I did. I kept it unbound until I could decide if I wanted to use it or not. Pre-mod 6, it was around 900K on the AH. Now, it's up to 1.1 million and higher.

Why is this so sought after? Are PvP'ers wanting it now?

Thanks

People want it because of the ap gain on it. it is also the only artifact with power on it as well if i am not mistaken. It is also the cheapest ap gain artifact you can buy as well with ad. Who would want this? pve peeps that want to have an ap gain stat.

One reason (cheaper AP gain) has already been mentioned. The other two I can think of are:

They added it to a 3-pc arti equipment set, so now it comes with a bonus of +5% incoming & outgoing healing (I don't believe the other two items are in game yet though).

For the foreseeable future there be few if any Tiamat runs. Fewer at Tier 4. And even fewer completable due to how botched the new "difficulty" curve is for mobs lvl 73+. Honestly I only see the price going up.

I bought one when the AH was flooded with them and they were cheap (circa 500k). Its good relatively to other artifacts I have, but nothing really special. Guess supply and demand issue.

    Indeed - they're at ~900K currently.

    1.1m? That is not much.

    One reason: supply and demand.

Tiamat's Orb of Majesty can be gotten from completing lvl 4 of Temple of Tiamat. Since Mod 6, I'm pretty certain that there have been no successful Tiamat HE, let alone a lvl 4 version of it. I'm actually wondering why they are not selling for more than 1.1M AD on the AH. Then again, making AD in Mod 6 is more difficult than it was in Mod 5 now with almost everything being broken in addition to rubber banding and server lag even in instances.

The Black Ice Beholder is going for 6M AD, up from 3M pre-mod 6. Will probably stay this way till more people get to 70 and start running Kessells Retreat again. So the 1.1M up from 500K for the Tiamat Orb looks about right
