Issues with Groups remaining in same instances

I have been having issues with my groups getting separated when we zone. Does anyone else have this issue?
For example we all zoned into Protectors Enclave to turn in quests and all ended up in different instances of Protectors Enclave. Then when we try and zone anywhere else to continue quests we rarely end up in the same instance of a zone.
I was under the impression that if you were in a team you would all end up in the same instance. Is this not the case? We have been manually moving to a common instance but then often run into the kicked to loading screen issue and have to log back in.
