I wanted to see how many encounter chests ( whatever these are called ) could queue up before I got an issue. I decided to shoot for around 300 and ended up with 337. The last 3 a opened are from dragons I landed a couple of last minute hits on hince only coins.

i give you a big thumbs up for you using all that time to show crypt how bad the chances for us getting the artifact drop and this is why people are angry at item drop chances... i did this two twice i collected 200 of the chests and open them and i got all the same things you got but just for my class HR....great post tho btw
It's a good start, but the his isn't actually a big enough sample to accurately determine anything significant. I've killed way fewer than 300 and I've gotten two artifacts to drop. RNGesus works in mysterious ways.

^I agree, I would want several sets of 1,000 or better to really look at the RNG at all. This Encounter Chest queue is a decent way to document this sort of activity. I am looking forward to doing more sets and making records for a nice grindy hobby.
Also, yes other people can do this less and get more. One of my goals here was testing to see if this was suitable to document my ability to be the best at NOT getting the loot I want. XD. Now that I have this I will be looking for interested contenders perhaps.
I think this is sad, it just proves that the game company has turned a dungeons and dragons game into drags and grinds game. Nomore real story line or chain quests or exploration, not really any creativity. It's all gone. Now it's just do this over and over and maybe you'll get lucky. Think back to the dread ring and sharandar mods, They were whole new areas created with a storyline. they were a little grindy but you worked toward something and you knew what gear you were going to get/buy/ Now this grind is not even for specific gear, just a chance at getting the gear you want and this is really all it is. here's some new gear to work for. It's a shame
At least most of the super-rare stuff is tradeable/sellable.
I have been farming for those super-rare items a few times, and in most cases with no drop. I have realized that going the AD way is the only way to guarantee you get the super-rare stuff.
So I think the problem is more that some people are very lucky and get the super-rare drops, thus progressing their characters massively, while most never get anything and need to keep plodding along. The droprate is so low that only a few get the big boost a super-rare sellable drop is.
i was on the preview the other day with my ss rene cw, i had a G.V and killed the ebon down dragon alone under 10 and i got nothing i mean nothing besides the rank 4 and coins -_-
These rewards aren't random. On my alts I have a similar Rare to Epic reward rate like OP.
On my main I get like 50% Epics, mostly Bracers, Bones and from other Dragons the Fashion and Leveling Weapons.

Nice, could you post a video of 100 or more to compare? I had someone post this same sort of comment on the You Tube video also. I for one would love to get a direction on how to approach a longer and more in depth test in the future. A nice starter set with a 50% rate would be great evidence. Thanks!
