Anyone Know Best Way To Get AD to get Keys to Open Lockboxes?

I am poor and can only grind in game. I cannot afford to drop actual money on enchanted keys.
Sigh, I see all these people opening amazing items. Should I ignore and resign myself to living poor life or is there a way to get the keys without having to grind 24/7?

Lockboxes are luxury, they only show those so you may want to open them too, but the chances of getting back the investment are low.

One key is 62,500 AD at maximum exchange rate, and the highest rate for ZEN is slightly below max. Salvaging epics is probably your best bet. However, getting the "amazing" item from the lockbox is hardly a guaranteed thing. You'll likely spend several times the amount you would have spent getting the same item from the AH waiting for it to pop out of the lockbox.

Still, if you don't try, the odds of winning are exactly zero.

I've opened about 30, all with AD earned in-game. I got nothing worth mentioning. I did sell some stuff to sell on AH but only enough to cover the cost of about 7 of the keys. So all I'm left with is a bunch of trade bars, a few bits of other currency and a lesson about gambling. Now I just buy what I want off the AH. Not quite so exciting but...

As for your question. The ONLY way to get instant Zen/AD/Keys is to spend real money. Earning enough AD in game will take a while, either through Daily Dungeons, salvaging, cunning AH trading or the long term but reliable way of building an army of leadership alts. No quick AD unless you pay. Then You'll blow it on a handful of keys and wonder why. Or is that just me?

Sounds like even if I did save up lots of AD I should spend it on Trade House items rather than Keys. I guess this makes sense. Now I need to work on getting the AD somehow. Thanks guys :)

They purposely announce all the people who's gotten something valuable from lockboxes just to make people like you fall into the trap of wanting to open some and try your luck. You should think of it as gambling, and only gamble when you can afford to. Know that the odds aren't that great, but there are some big prizes if you're willing to try and give it a go.

As a F2P player like you have described yourself, don't bother wasting your resources in these lockboxes.

    1) Build a time machine.
    2) Go back in time to Neverwinter's beta/launch
    3) Make millions of AD through actually playing the game
    4) Invest that AD into making more AD
    5) Congrats! You're now a multibillionaire and can buy lockbox keys galore!

If the above isn't an option you can still:

    a) Spend thousands of dollars on NW.

    or:

    b) Open a few lockboxes here and there after saving up.

I was trying to make Zen doing the Surveys on the Earn Zen part of the website. At first I made about 800 Zen but then all the sudden they started saying I didn't fit the survey target market and dropped me. Now today trying to do this during down time, I was doing a survey for like 98 zen and was about 20 minutes into it asking my son questions for the survey and suddely they say BUMMER you dont fit the target market!! WTH I probably did over 50% at least, most likely 75% and got NOTHING for it?!?! I am thinking that it is a waste of time unless there is some trick to doing the surveys?

Ye lockboxes are traps, its better to make AD by running dungeons, trading,... And try to join in a good guild, ppl will help u to gear up and make ad... thats the only way...

I guess U really dont know how much these lockbox-openers had to spent to get these fancy things,... I know a guy who sold his perfect enchants to gamble with these boxes, he spent 250 keys, and got aint worthy things...

Instructions unclear. Built time machine, but ended up in the year 2050. Things look arlight here, but gaming is very different here in the future. Not sure where to insert credit card.

I have 20 toons, all profession slots open and doing leadership, and max out on AD everyday so I get almost 500k refined AD a day. Enough in a week's time to buy almost anything. Now if I didn't spend it as fast as I got it I would be rich :)

They are pretty close to zero as is. OP, it is more practical to save up and purchase desired items off the AH. Lockboxes are a poor gamble.

Lockboxes are gambling fun. Tymora ganged up with Waukeen on them. Never look at lockboxes as a "source of income in game".

He may be your hero but ask him how much money he paid to make 20 toons and their level 20 leadership. If not, he might have been playing this game since beta which is a lot lot of time. What i mean is, you can't have much AD if you don't pay or you have been playing since beta.

Do like me...Wish to be lucky.
