Mod 5 TR companions

Obviously other than an augment, do any companions stand out for all applications? At 18k+, a 300 point stat increase seems pretty irrelevant.

I also can't imagine the ones that rely on 'damage taken' or unspecified 'chance' to be of much use. Obviously, 'Affects companion' is about as useless as an active can be.

I'm using an Erinyes already which seems pretty much like a given.

I'm also using the sylph and I can't even tell if it does anything to be honest. Makes me wonder if I should bother with a will-o-wasp in addition.

After this they seem so close that its impossible to determine which one is preferable.

Do companions like the Wererat/Wild Hunt/Tomb Spider justify their cost at this point? Or would something that adds +2% deflect/AP/CA gain beat any of them out? I've read some testing that some of these bonuses can add less than 1% damage or mitigation which obviously isn't really worth it.

Anyway, curious to hear any first hand information about some of these companions in relation to mod 5.

Blink Dog / Intellect Devourer = Combat Advantage
Acolyte of Kelemvor = 5% Incoming healing
Blacksmith = 25% chance to reflect 10% of damage taken
Cockatrice = 10% change to root source of damage
Laughing Skull = Because he is funny

Basically go for the things that don't give stats directly.

Overall, good advice, but for me, I would ignore the Laughing Skull and Acolyte of Kelemvor. The others are good, based upon your build choice/preferences. I also like:

    Dancing Blade (more critical severity)
Eryines of Belial (critical severity) - and you already have that one, so great!

And go with an Ioun Stone of some type as well - keep that one summoned!!
SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! SEC! (repeat indefinitely)

I use the battle dog, sometimes it's a good tank, and cute as hell XD

This. The war dog is ridiculously adorable when kept as a puppy, and stacked with the right runes and equipment can tank basically everything in the solo PvE environment. I remember using him to hilarious effect against Sazohiel in DR.

    Good times. :)

Fire Archon active bonus is good: Increases damage against targets with less than 30% Hit Points by +5%

Laughing Skull is fine for clearing but useless in boss fights

Yeah, the laughing skull reference was because he can be funny, not because he's actually useful. :)

For augment, i Like cat. He's cute and all. You can go for ioun stones if you are more of a dog person :)
Erinyes, Blink Dog, Devourer, Dancing Blade for active - Maybe the Dragon Cultist instead of the blade if you can get one.

Poison comps only good for bosses, everything dies faster than they could be actually useful.
I dont really like on damage taken/reflect for TR.
This is for PVE, not IWD.
My story is truly a grand tale! Of course, any story about me is going to be grand simply by virtue of the main character.
