Performance in general

I was silent for months... repeatedly experiencing massive issues with disappeared items, disappearing ardent coins, disappearing celestial coins, login issues etc.

Has anyone of the game admins had the courage to admit that with every additional module the game is less fun to play just because the performance goes down the more complex that game gets ?

Now since Tiamat module is alive playing Neverwinter is almost impossible for me... login lasts up to 20 min, if I am in it takes almost 10 min to get an invocation done, running against fences, walls and what ever silly stuff is in my way... I am HC/guild leader of a guild and I feel the obligation to be online although playing the game is hardly possible for me.

I hereby ask you to rename the game into "ddra - the drunken donkey runs around" or as an alternativ please fix these bloody performance issues. As based on some years of experience I assume 80 % of the issues that show up is based on old bad programming that no one dares to touch... a problem known from many other programs/games... until the day the inevitable is no longer to be denied.

I am playing Neverwinter or D&D since the 70s from pen and paper to all all the PC games that were published and I would really feel very sad if this game will be part of the long list of game-zomies that linger on without an active community just because of lack of proper programming...

If you want to grill me, feel free to do so... but right now I am royally frustrated after 6 days of just chatting ingame without being able to do anything together with my guild-mates

I experience many of the performance issues you describe, but not too such a degree. The game is still very playable for me, but yes, it has degraded some.

I would be glad. Success is earnt and shouldn't be kept just from a good combat system and big name. If this game doesn't die then other publishers will also release unpolished content and focus on the cash shop, possibly at prices above the average consumer, more than keeping the quality of their own product to a decent standard. Personally I want to actually feel valued should a choose to be a customer and feel like spending more without feeling pressure like I have to.

If by some miracle the game changed for the better, it'd probably be too late from me to trust any future products anyway. They left things in a bad shape for so long, and that type of neglect and inconsideration isn't something I can easily forget if things are changed only for our benefit as a last resort.

this game makes a great example on how not to do things for future programmers, on top of badly thought out stuff there is a bunch of issues in a huge pile, maybe because the game was developed at start as coop ? they really need to go over the darn thing line by line

but i havent noticed problems like yours, you can try tracert to neverwinter servers, check support for address, maybe you get routed through china or smth :D from EU lag isnt that bad, so the problem might be on your end or somewhere in the middle

some ppl had epic lag on League of Legends at one point - turned out that the problem was their ISP routing

if its performance then yeah they fd up smth real hard, but "/reduce_mip 1" helped me a lot

There are a few problems going on here I think.

First your disconnect problems. Test your trace route. If you go thru cogentco you're probably getting throttled.

Your fps lag in general: Double check that your graphic settings didn't get maxed out by the update. Sometimes that happens no idea why.

If none of these are effect you could try posting some more information on your system. Maybe something is going on that someone can help with, as while there are problems, the severity of yours are not normal.

Oh c'mon. I made all those checks thousand times, in the past weeks. I'm fed up with this ....
It's not my connection. We have those laggin' and disconnect probs here on Dragon-Server nearly each night (eu time).

I won't spend any more money in this. Sry, but this game is gettin' worser and worser, each patch.
    "few problems ..." pah!
Not to mention the list of old errors, cryptic is ignoring constantly.

This is not constructive in the least. You can express your concerns without flat out bashing the company or resorting to tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.

    Thread done.
