So I've done Tiamat about 12 times and each time I've won (3 times), a little ranking screen popped up like the rankings for area contests, and I got a favor as a part of my reward. The ranking also showed up a few times when I lost (but not always), and I got other rewards (not a favor which is understandable since we lost).
Anyone have an idea on what triggers it (or why it triggers when we lose), and does the ranking only include those people in your instance. I've gotten gold most of the time, but I seem to be below people who have a bronze medallion next to them. I haven's spent a bunch of time looking at it, so I could be wrong. I just know it doesn't always show up which I thought was interesting.
It compares how well youve done in your instance alone. The hold medal is a lie, but you can see your potion and score which is calculated from factors like healing damage taken and dealth.
I'm confused on the point system and critera used. I logged two runs with ACT. The first one I was 8th in damage but scored 20th. The second I was 11th in damage but scored 12th. The second time I tried to take more damage and heal/revive more. I look more at the second log.
1st place 5mil damage 638k damage taken 485k heal
2nd place 11.6mil damage 1.0 mil damage taken 717k heal
12th place 8.0mil damage 987k damage taken 568k heal
Most of the time I'm in the top 10 damage and in the bottom 15 with points.
I would also like to know how exactly this thing is calculated, as I am normally in the top 3 players in my instance when I play CW, and quite often the 1st place player (if it isn't me) is some **** HR with 3k power and a tanky build. How exactly is the score calculated?

I've noticed it too, that tankier CON builds get more points overall, but that doesn't necessarily have to be the case.
The system is, in my experience, severely broken to the point of anyone entering before the end and getting the prizes non-the-less than top ranking person.
I figure that if you fall, which will happen when Blue Dragon Head hits you without any notice ( ), you will lose points if you recall/respawn at the pit.
So, staying alive is directly connected with the ranking screen, but so is damage.
Besides, repel/ice storm, shard etc seem to be a better choice overall during the cleric protection.

it is the same ranking used for HE "Great Success" really except everyone gets "Great Success" because everyone is gold ranked.
It's the sum total of Paingiver, executioner, immovable object and field medic, put in some formula for ranking purposes.
my SW is typically first, but if not it's always some DC.
it's certainly very weird. on my gwf, I died 3 times my first time in there and got ranked 15th. Later on, I never died, healed 3 players from death, and felt like I was overall doing very well. Rank 22 that time. Makes no sense, so I figure it will just be another thing I ignore when playing gwf.
I'm confused on the point system and critera used. I logged two runs with ACT.
I can't say for certain this is the case, but I did some brief investigation after a run where ACT showed me as doing twice as much damage as the next person (18% of the total instance damage output), by far the most healing done AND damage taken, yet the scoreboard showed me as 8th. Turns out the log can't properly assign non-group damage from around the 700 distance unit mark and outwards, doesn't recognize damage events happening at all just over 1000 units out while self-heal works a bit further. So ACT is likely not showing the correct numbers if taken over a large area.
This, of course, doesn't mean the scoring system isn't horribly skewed and a very poor system with which to assign loot. Just that the combat log/ACT might not be a reliable method to get a clear picture.

On a GF I never got higher than 15th place. There aren't even many damage sources to tank, and most of the heavy damage is avoidable.
I've actually been in the top 10 as a GF almost every time, even a few second and first place finishers . . . and I have no idea how I'm getting those points. Perhaps it counts all my revives, or it heavily rewards grabbing aggro in the Cleric phase. The times I get #1 or #2 were the time where I was defending the middle Cleric and just tanked all the adds.
I think not dieing gives plenty points coz there wasa run this afternoon where i had to afk for like 10 mins due to an important call and i scored 100k points and placed 6th just running like 7 or 8 mins.

There's nothing to tank, the mobs are CCd and dead few seconds after they spawn.
I would like to know how this works too. I always rank gold on my combat HR but the actual ranking number, I'm all over the map. Though most of the time I'm on the bottom half for no apparent reason.
I've heard that your score resets if you die or it's only the last segment before either a success or failure you are actually ranked on. No idea what is true and what is false. Something just doesn't seem right.
I'd rather just see gold, silver, bronze. I feel like I performed rather well and then to see I'm like 20th??? The whole numerical ranking is just a kick in the (insert word of choice).

Not always. For the middle cleric sometimes several packs will spawn at once, sometimes there is dragons breath incoming so people are busy dodging, and sometimes there just aren't many people defending. The Leigon Devils will charge the cleric pretty quickly, so I just Enforced Threat, then run around marking the rest until they all die. The side clerics usually only have one pack spawn at a time, so they're much easier to deal with, but the middle can get a little hectic.
We went through this with BI drops remember? Since the calc was only rewarding high DPS builds they re-calced it to give more weight to field medic and immoveable. Somy (kinda?) tankg HR is taking more damage because he can absorb some hits a CW might dodge, he is DPSing, and LS boosts field medic. Which balances out to better overall ranking than pure DPS, Tank, or Healer. There was a similar discussion in the barracks and conqs were getting better results than other builds. Basically because they attack more, and gaurd less and so take more damage hence heal more (regen LS pots) and deliver more damage than a protector build. Really I think they need to re-calc to include buffs as DPS maybe.
It's a little frustrating when my toon is HR 17k+ SW Archer build with balanced stats for high DPS and I can't get above 12th place. I have ran about 25 instances now and I usually score between 15th-20th. I just finished a run where a 12kgs GWF with low enchants and no weapon or armor enchant and he took 2nd place and tripled my score. 2nd place for a 12kgs GWF please. My scores are around 50k-65k where 1st place is typically over 200k.

Buffs count very heavily towards a GF, getting a top 3 spot really isn't hard if you're just doing your normal aggro thing while generously applying ItF and KV to those around you.

It resets every phase. So if you came in 1st on the last screen you look at when done, it doesn't mean that you came in first on the other phases.
But also, I think that it was done this way just to F with people who only care about DAMAGE.
I get first, I get HAMSTER, I get mid or lower I get some awesome stuff, so loot is prob random.
Many of the things in this instance count towards score, so I think it's more of a teamwork reward.

Yep, tailor-made for SW

This scoring system is not working at all.
