My question : Con or Cha build <wich one is most wanted/dps wise pve build? My Con build is +10% more damage bonus/HP -10% crit chance/combat avantage/pet bonus My Cha build is +10% crit chance/10 % combat avantage/pet -10% damage bonus/-HP
I've been running around with a warlock ,CHA build , crit chance 52%.
52% crit chance rather failds me . Most of times i see only yellow number damage ( noncrit)
Rarely i see Orange Numbers (crit hit).
And i feal that crit chance is definetly dependent to RNG and luck .
So i have 2 ways : a build that depends on luck-rng..Or straight constant damage build. *Lucky Cha build* 52 % crit chance , +10% combat avantage bonus (heavy depended on luck) *Con build* that have constant 10% Damage bonus and 42 % crit chance ( -10% combat avantage and -10% crit chance).
Hello Alizea, I'm far from an expert, but in theory both builds are equally viable measured against each other.
CHA build can out DPS a CON build but to do so it needs a vorpal enchantment and boosts to crit severity from boons, pets and feats. Without those, the Con build will probably be superior DPS wise and have the benefit of being tougher from the extra HP as well.
From your post it sound like you are not happy with the high CHA/crit build at the moment so you might as well try the CON build or.... the Third Path: a balanced CON/CHA build. I have: CON 24; INT 16, CHA 22 at lv 60 without a camp-fire. It works quite well and I get the best of everything so to speak.
As you noticed Crit is totally RNG based so you will get some lucky strings of crits and some unlucky stings of crits, it should balance out over a sufficient period of time. Still you should get about 50/50 with that much crit chance so something seems to be off. The only thing I can think of is that your choice of powers may be effecting how your crit is appearing to the naked eye: most DoT powers ether crit for their duration or don't so it might look like you crit less often then you do. Also if you use the Accused Diabolist set, you should note that the set bonus cant crit so a lot of non-crit number will be fly around just from that. With out checking your combat logs it would be hard to say what is going on.
If you are, I may have found why you are not seeing the orange number you expect to see.
Fury warlocks have several feats that I would call 'damage amplifiers' they do an additional percent of any attack that triggers them. These include Murderous Flames, Executioners Gift and Creeping Death! Since they are doing damage based of a triggering power (which may have been a crit) they never crit themselves, but apply a separate yellow damage floater of their own to the screen. The effect is that someone using these feast will see far less overall crits on their screen compared to no-crits thanks to all the 'damage amplifiers' but their crit chance is still increasing their 'base damage' and indirectly the 'damage amplifiers'.
All warlocks also have access to Tyrannical Threat which works the same way as described above and never crits.

As for Cha Vs Con, why not both?

Also 52% Crit Chance seem really high even with high CHA and a full raft of Crit Severity boosters. You probably have way more of the Crit stat then is efficient. Have a read of what I (any many others) consider the holy Bible of DPS: http://laggygamerz.com/forum/index.php?/topic/342-crit-power-and-dps-the-numbers-guide/
Hope that's helpful and at the end of the day always choose what's more fun to play for you!
